February 27, 20178 yr Author I'm a bit gutted Moonlight beat La La Land, I obviously WAY Preferred the latter but tbh I think I'm still just so glad Emma won I think that was the most important award for me this year!!
February 27, 20178 yr Author Also La La Land becomes only the second film in Oscars history to lose BP after winning the Globe, PGA, DGA, and BAFTA.
February 27, 20178 yr Author Multiple winners: La La Land - 6 Moonlight - 3 Hacksaw Ridge - 2 Manchester By The Sea - 2
February 27, 20178 yr Thank god Moonlight won, a much better picture about real people not about privileged selfish kids in Hollywood. Annoyed their win is overshadowed by the mix up though.
February 27, 20178 yr Really didn't get the appeal of 'Moonlight' (story aside). Just like last year all over again for me, except I expected this one haha. It was "ok" at best for me. The cinematography was pretty generic from a "indie film breaking out" point of view and I thought the directing was a bit messy in a few parts. The acting was worth award noms (and a couple of wins) but they got the wrong actor up for the award lmao. La La Land deserved it for me, because I've never felt the way I did watching that, with any other film before. Eh. I didn't think 'Spotlight' was worth the best pic award last year (but again, deserved a nom) so... maybe I'm just out of touch lmao.
February 27, 20178 yr Cannot cope with the mix up  I loved both films. 'Moonlight' really did deserve it.
February 27, 20178 yr In the cold light of day I definitely think the right film won. I've tried to be balanced about La La Land (I don't like musicals very much and I didn't like the story) but Moonlight was definitely a better film overall for me. Not better made perhaps, but then LLL did win Director (which it deserved) and a few technical awards (mostly deserved) so it got what it was due basically.
February 27, 20178 yr Yes @ Moonlight That mistake is so insanely embarrassing and terrible for everyone involved.
February 27, 20178 yr Multiple Oscar winning film... Hacksaw Ridge Oscar winning film... Suicide Squad Vomit Edited February 27, 20178 yr by blacksquare
February 27, 20178 yr I'm as disgusted by the revival of Mel Gibson as a THING as the next person, but the categories Hacksaw won in were fully deserved. It was a brilliantly made film, even if I didn't actually ENJOY it that much.
February 27, 20178 yr The "wrong picture" winners topples anything as the most memorable moment of all time of The Oscars. That mistake will go down in infamy.
February 27, 20178 yr I don't know if I'm just emotionally unstable but Viola's speech made me cry, beautiful words  So glad she won :D
February 27, 20178 yr Viola always gives great speech, but this was one was exceptional. Might as well make the most of this win because she probably won't get another (sadly).
