Posted March 5, 20178 yr 3rk6_Ax0mQo now this is a bit of tune. you may know J Hus from his feature in the Stormzy album as well as on Dave's single 'Samantha'. he's now got a hip-hop club banger with a strong hook with 'Did You See'. I think this could potentially be big (for a non-Stormzy grime song anyway)
March 5, 20178 yr Yes!! Loved J Hus ever since 'Lean & Bop' a few years ago (still a tune btw) and I remember that 'Friendly' got R1 support which is pretty great considering the sound. He's everywhere right now seemingly, he's on big songs with Dave, Nines, Stormzy and now his own single! Think it'll sound particularly good when the weather improves in the next few weeks too. For all the press Grime is getting right now, UK rap fused with Afrobeat and Dancehall influence is equally as big at the moment on the streets. Think artists like J Hus, Kojo Funds, MoStack, Shakka and Stefflon Don. Fingers crossed for this. Would be great if this got mainstream support outside of 1Xtra.
March 16, 20178 yr This is catchy as hell - looks like it'll be a big hit too! J HUS has been on my two favourite rap songs of the year so far, this being one of them. Awesome
April 13, 20178 yr Never thought this would be playlisted by R1 and Capital while also breaking the Spotify Top 50! Genuinely pleasant surprise.
April 13, 20178 yr Author Really pleased to see this doing well, it's very fresh for the charts and would sound amazing in the top 40.
April 21, 20178 yr I'D BE A GENIUS IF I DIDN'T THINK WITH MY ..... This line makes me laugh a bit, immature of me I know, I think its the tone he says it in though too.... Anyway, the song is good, and I wouldn't mind it being a hit. For all the press Grime is getting right now, UK rap fused with Afrobeat and Dancehall influence is equally as big at the moment on the streets. Excellent, I do find grime a bit harsh sounding in terms of production (I don't like it as much the more melodic production of UK garage), so it's good more melodic versions of UK rap are becoming popular.
May 5, 20178 yr Author J Hus' next single is inspired by a certain Buzzjack poster. It's no 'Did You See' but another catchy tune. xld8I3xtxRk His album, also titled 'Common Sense' comes out next Friday. He's fast becoming one of the hottest British rappers so I think it could be a top 5 album.
May 5, 20178 yr Another banger! I reckon Did You See could go top 10 officially with the album streams effect in play!
May 12, 20178 yr Album dropped today and it's a triumph! 'Spirit' is such a banger, can see it being the 'I Feel It Coming' for the album as 'Did You See' was the 'Starboy'. Huge.
May 29, 20178 yr Can't believe 'Did You See' is a Top 10 hit, never would have thought. Really crossed over to the mainstream, hear it out of car windows all the time.
June 12, 20178 yr I wanted to get tickets to see him in Manchester for the Common Sense Tour but they sold out :(
July 30, 20177 yr 'Spirit' has been added to the R1 playlist and has been A-Listed on 1Xtra for a few weeks now. It sounded an instant smash when I first heard it - think it's even catchier than 'Did You See'. hBgF6JrWaO8
July 30, 20177 yr I wonder has our Common Sense on Buzzjack bought this album? Edited July 30, 20177 yr by Slitherhisser
September 3, 20177 yr 'Spirit' is such a banger, can see it being the 'I Feel It Coming' for the album as 'Did You See' was the 'Starboy'. Huge. Good to see I was on it with this prediction!
December 13, 20177 yr I've heard Bouff Daddy quite a bit recently and I like it, it could do well potentially in the charts.
December 13, 20177 yr I'm surprised they never pushed 'Fisherman', that seemed the most popular album track when it was first released.
