I'm fairly certain he stopped talking about Britney around the FutureSex/LoveSounds era and definitely stopped from 2007 when he began dated his soon-to-be wife Jessica Biel. He did benefit from their breakup but in all fairness so could she if not for her label trying to paint her as some kind of super-sulty sex symbol

Laughable the media built him up.

And what's the point? Everyone does it. Alanis Morissette did it, Adele did it. Ed Sheeran does it.....it's part of life. Britney's even done it.

All of those you listed didn’t have to use their superstar ex to launch their solo career tho.

Again, who really cares? It's in the past. It's only Britney fans who are still butthurt and keep dragging it up.

 

Also, Alanis pretty much used her ex to launch her career. The rumours of the ex in question being Uncle Joey in Full House keep momentum going for JLP.

Because he was willfully destroying her career and image to boost himself up.

She kinda destoryed her own image though, you can't blame Justin for every bad thing that happened to her.

Comparing uncle Joey in Full House to Britney Spears in 2002... is a bit lol.

 

I’m not blaming Justin for an ounce of her breakdown. I’m blaming him for capitalizing on that media ride change to paint himself as a protagonist when his “suffering” was just a catalyst to get the media to single out JT from the rest of the members of NSync. Once the Britney drama hit, and CMAR was released he was a household name in his own right. And seriously f*** him. He went on Howard Stern and told the world he f***ed her. He has made countless jokes that have limelighted his way to media gold. Don’t underplay that shit.

 

And then he starts off this era by talking about how Vegas is what stars do to retire. I’m tired of his smirk stained comments. Like, Britney ain’t mentioned Justin since her tell All documentary in 2008, and she had nothing rude to say, nor has she ever for that matter. I’m tired of people bashing her to get attention.

 

It’s very telling when she hasn’t had to bash anyone to get ahead.

Guys. I left a message a few pages back saying I didn't want this kind of discussion to be had in this thread. It's just repetitive and literally goes nowhere. There's no purpose to it anymore than to create needless stan wars and pointless arguments that never end well. If I wanted to see that I'd just head over to Twitter.

 

If you feel there's more room for discussion on this topic feel free to post a topic elsewhere, like the lounge. But this is not the thread for it. Fair enough, have your say on the album and the era, but adding their personal lives into it when people usually come here to try and steer away/escape from that side of things when it comes to artists (a lot of people like to separate the artist from the art etc...) is just unnecessary a lot of the time. So please, take that conversation elsewhere please? Thanks.

I just think he represents the issue of sexism and male privelege in society and I’m glad the media is finally picking up on that. Because his music has never been that high of quality, minus some choice singles.
