April 4, 20178 yr I'm getting Janet Jackson vibes. She's had an interesting path, going R&B and *then* pop, while being really young too. Hope she sees some success with this.
July 17, 20178 yr Could someone explain to why this wasn't HUGE and has it's floppage cancelled the album or is it just awful rumours?
July 17, 20178 yr It wasn't huge because it is Tinashe and everything she touches seems to flop because she will forever be continuously underrated :(
July 17, 20178 yr It flopped because it wasnt good enough to attract the Pop audience the song was obviously intended for. Simple.
July 17, 20178 yr The song WAS good enough though. It's a huge pop song and if it was sung by Sia or if Rihanna had recorded it or something, it'd have been a huge hit.
July 20, 20178 yr The song WAS good enough though. It's a huge pop song and if it was sung by Sia or if Rihanna had recorded it or something, it'd have been a huge hit. But huge pop songs aren't necessarily 'in' right now are they? I think '2 On' was a hit mainly because it was very on-trend for the time. Hopefully she releases a Metro Boomin produced song or something similar to 'All My Friends' next.
July 20, 20178 yr Was 2 On a hit though?! and it was by FAR her biggest hit in the US. That song seems to be the only time she really click with the general public on one of her own tracks which is a huge shame - she does deserve to be far bigger but I don't think going poppier is the way forwards to be honest :(
July 20, 20178 yr '2 On' was a big hit in the US though. I think that and her top 5 feature in the UK are her only real achievements. :( She did deserve better, the first album was utterly incredible... although she's kind of lost the plot (mostly) since then and at this point it's clear she's not going to make it, which is unfortunate as she does have it. July 21, 20177 yr I was convinced All Hands On Deck would have been her proper breakout moment, I was also suprised Player wasn't a hit.
