Ya I'm not really here for shona either.

Shona's one of the best characters! Obviously right now she's out of character but that's the entire point - we're meant to find her behaviour shocking and borderline uncomfortable because she's having to relearn exactly who she is. She's lost a LOT of her memory and even since she came into Corrie, she mellowed a lot, so naturally this Shona isn't quite as likeable as before the accident.

 

Corrie's reclaimed the soap crown for me recently, it's been unmissable! The Yasmeen plot continues to be heartbreaking yet gripping TV.

I really liked Shona for a time you know Joseph! But in the lead up to her exit when she went on maternity I felt they sort of changed her and she was kinda like a miserable screecher like Anna Windass. I think her current story is acted out well though. I think she’ll strike up a close friendship with Nina as a result of this eventually despite the inevitable clashes we will see at first :lol:

 

Yasmeens story though is gripping. Shes someone I just root for. Are we thinking when Geoff threw the camera away into the bin that it somehow didn’t get emptied. I think Sally might have it for some reason :lol: but tonight’s cliff hanger with the escorts and that look on Geoffs face....

I love Shona's storyline, I think it's accurate in that her personality has changed because of the amnesia because she's reverted back to before the street, she's undone all the hard work she put into herself to better herself, because a lot of it came from her standing in the street, her family with David, her friendships. That's why I liked Shona and why she was a relatable and likeable character, we saw her really grow and overcome what had held her back in life and made her defensive and on edge. Naturally when amnesia sets back her memories, it sets back that progress so it would make no sense if she didn't revert more to being her old character.

 

I also LOVE Nina so so much but the best of the young cast rn is Asha, she is turning into an incredible actress!

Nina is one of the best newcomers in soap for a while!

 

Love her and Asha. New Aadi is pretty good too.

 

Corrie is good in general right now though I think the reduced episodes has benefited them the most of any soap to be honest.

 

 

After being very disappointed with Corrie for a few years I think it's picked up now and is really good again.

So filming began again yesterday. No break then but won't go back to 6 a week for a good while they say.

 

Rumours of a love tryst coming later in the year too.

 

 

Future storyline spoiler.

 

 

Gary Windass will go down for Rick's murder later in the year when his body is found. Supposed to have been during the BGT semis week. He slipped up by saying he was still in contact with him and they can tell Rick was dead already then. Oops, explain that then Gary!!

 

I'm enjoying Sally's role in the Geoff storyline, and I'm looking forward to it all coming out.

I’ve just seen on Digital Spy that there’s plans to bring back Todd Grimshaw with a new actor playing the role.

 

They’ve not cast anyone yet but they’re planning too... possibly a 2021 addition to the cast?

I disagree with that. If they can't give the actor another chance, and it's understandable why they won't, then let the character be.

I always find it really jarring when they bring back cast with a new actor or actress, I've still not taken to the 'new' Nick Tilsey :lol: Also when they replaced Sally Webster overnight with the new actress I was like huh, what!???

 

Both new cast members are far superior actors though! :lol:

Sometimes I can take to recasts. It’s good the character has actually been off air for a while so it won’t be an overnight change.

 

Also did anyone see last nights episode. That scene with Michael singing Unbreak My Heart is up there with one of the worst scenes I’ve ever seen on any soap :lol:

Omg her tearing him down is one of my first Corrie memories YES :cheeseblock:

I remember a lot about her exit but not so much about the character but the actress is brilliant. She played a great part in Hollyoaks and Holby City.

 

Wondering why she’s back though. My first feeling was that she’s probably had a child with Nick or something. It feels like that’s the only real reason why she’d return

Natasha was brilliant, I might have to start watching again. Stopped watching throughout the whole Sinead/Daniel story and since then I just can't stand what they've turned certain characters into like Fizz, so unbearable.

 

Also, pretty fed up with each character having a turn in prison, usually for something they haven't done. Then also for the whole street to forget everything they know about that character and just think they've committed what they've been arrested for.
