Gail is always so watchable and enjoyable.

The character however is lost in some aspects as the scriptwriters appear not to have decided if she is a serious or comedy character.

Confirmed that Emily Bishop will be making a cameo appearance in October as part of Ken's 8th birthday.
Sweet lord , dev's acting in tonight's episode was terrible, and there was me thinking he couldn't get worse.Acting alongside maureen lipman does him no favours at all. Glad about the Emily news as her departure feels totally unfinished.

Catching up on last weeks episodes and mondays over today.

Emma is the star of the show at the moment at least the real star. Love her character. So lovely and she gave her best acting performances to date with her dads death. Her real life dad also passed away which I think come across on screen so real and believable. Love her character.

Emma is great at the moment and showing a good balance in character.

She’s one of those rare characters what’s just nice yet not boring.

Definitely the best new addition they’ve had in ages.

I really just root for her.

Emma is brilliant, I was on the fence with her and found her a bit pointless but she's definitely proven herself recently. I'm also already stanning Aggie, she has a LOT of potential but I hope she doesn't get dragged down by her family who scream deadwood.

Emma has integrated slowly and is building to big screen time.

This is always the best route for characters to be remembered.

I read that

Daniel cheats on Sinead with Bethany but the article stated that it’s only a kiss out of his grief. The article

Also mentioned Sinead dying. Is that just pure speculation still or have the show actually confirmed this is what’s about to happen?im also wondering how Shonas going to leave for maternity and Sophie come to that.

Bethany I think may get a similar exit to what Kate’s about to get and she’ll go travelling or accept a job offer overseas in order to find herself.

Also I’ll add that I liked tonight’s episodes.

I too really like Aggie Bailey as well and I sort of like the brother too (the non footballer one). He’s quite funny.

The footballer brother and dad need more time to shine at the moment but that time should come soon with his football homophobia storyline.

Sineads exit story’s been confirmed now by the actress herself and the official Corrie social pages.

Yes going to be a sad exit for Sinead.

I agree.

It’s a shame that the actress has been wasted in the show until she got this story too.

Probably the most fitting exit though and the message it will send out will be pretty strong too.

Was it Katie McGlynns decision to leave? From reading a short interview with her it seemed she wanted the characters exit to go the way it is.

Yes she wants to pursue other acting options.

Anyone else think tonight was the best acting Katie McGlynn (Sinead) has ever been given the chance to do on the show?

She’s definitely gonna leave on a high in terms of giving her best performances.

It’s a shame the shows underused her as she’s proven tonight that she’s capable of some powerful performances.

Tonight proved it was the writing and not the actress, truth is they wrote Sinead terribly for the majority of her run and just made her a totally drab and dreary character. If she carries on like this, Katie McGlynn could very well be the frontrunner for the Soap Awards and NTAs next year. All her scenes tonight were extremely powerful, heartbreaking but she was incredible and I'm sure that will continue.
Katie McGlynn has been absolutely wasted on Corrie. She was fantastic in Waterloo Road.

Yeah she definitely had more to do on that show tbh!

On This Morning she said part of her decision to go was that she’d never been given a big storyline which is kinda true she was wasted and overlooked then they gave her the cancer storyline but she told the producers she wanted Sinead to die.

100%! I remember being so excited that she was joining the show but she was given virtually nothing to do until this cancer storyline, I suppose as an actress who wanted to move on she could ask for nothing better than such a heartbreaking storyline to bow out with!

This is one of the biggest cases I can think of where the writing has completely done an actor dirty, through her time in soap I think Sinead has constantly been one of the worst, driest characters but it just goes to show that so much is about the writing! Alison King is one of the best actresses in soap, for example, and she has had some terrible writing as well that's really brought her down at points.
