I think Melanie Hill who plays Cathy is another example of a current character who’s wasted on Corrie.

She was also better in Waterloo Road  but she’s been in many other shows where she’s showed she’s a good actress.

But the show sometimes really do some females dirty

Georgia May Foote was another one I can think of and Georgia Taylor since she come back.

On the reverse side though Ali King and Kym Marsh have had absolutely everything chucked at them! At least Kyms on break soon but I suspect that’ll last 18 month maximum.

Agreed Liam, I was really excited for her to join the show but she had very little to work with to begin with and was made such a dull, boring character so that when she was giving something to do, you just didn't care. I find Daniel and Sinead such a boring couple and didn't understand why Kate Oates pushed them to the forefront of the show during her time as boss.

Same goes for Melanie Hill as you point out Jordan! It's got to the point where, if I saw them in something else, I'd have a hard time warming to them because I've got this new perception of them due to Corrie.

Oh yeah they're REALLY doing Georgia Taylor dirty, look what she was capable of as Ruth in Casualty, and with her rape storyline in her original stint. What's odd is she always said she'd only come back for the right storyline and since she came back all she's done is own the pub for 5 minutes, lie about a baby and be totally abhorrent
Haven't watched this in quite a while now and I've just turned it on to see Sinead...being bloody amazing. What on earth. Legit lump in my throat right now.

Sinead again being star of the show tonight

Bernie though!! Idk why she annoys me so much. I stanned the actress so much in Casualty.

She’s capable of so so much more than the material she’s been give on here so far BUT tonight’s episodes gave me a feeling we may see a different side to her when she discovers the truth about Paul’s past. This will probably be her turning point in the show i’m hoping so anyways.

Seems the two big Christmas 2019 stories are Sinead's death and Gemma's quads being born. Wonder if she'll get 4 live babies then. Should be some great comedy moments. I like her but I know many viewers don't.
Gemma's just turn off the tv awful

Well each to their own. I find her quite funny and word is she'll be hilarious trying to cope with the babies.

I thought Sinead was leaving earlier than that she’s already finished filming the show although I guess she could feature in the Christmas episode via a video message she records before hand.
I think Sinead will deteriorate quickly and go quicker than we expect, like she'll die in her sleep or during an event she'll slip away, that would just be extra heartbreaking as she and Daniel and her family may not get to do everything they planned for her last months.

Katie McGlynns been so f***ing good these past two weeks.

She’s so capable as an actress and so very believable in portraying a dying young mother I’ll be sad to see her go she’s one of the few good points surrounding Corrie right now tbh.

I’m so frustrated with how the show has treated her now but as I said in a post last week she is definitely leaving the show on a huge high. We saw a slight glimpse of what she was capable of during the minibus crash but this cancer story has really made me take notice of her in a way I never have during her Corrie career. Even Daniel actor Rob is giving his best performances to date too and it’s even made Beth likeable too. Just goes to show what good writing and a believable story can do!

One main strength Corrie has is that when there’s a real tragic event or bad news surrounding a character the whole street and the whole cast mention it and are great at playing the concerned friend / relative acts who want to be there but have no idea in what to do or say. I think Corrie does that aspect of the story better than any of the other UK soaps tbh. I was expecting Audrey to mention Alma last night I imagine she might in the future though.

I'm the opposite, I think she was great for the 2 episodes where she was told it was terminal but after that it's been poor acting again from her and I find it hard to pick the true emition from her. Daniel on the other hand I think has portrayed it brilliant and you just want to reach out and hug him as I find emotionally he is delivering brilliantly and he is far outshining her on the acting side of things.

100% agree with this, she is terrible! The actress overacts to the extent I wonder if she can even act and the character is just so annoying. I go through phases of not being able to watch it because there is so much of her in it and it turns me off the programme totally. GET RID :puke2:

Wtf was with Kevin choking in tonight’s episodes not once but twice.

Some awful acting from Dev and Sean tonight too and Fiz as well when Gary was on the phone.

Not a great two episodes tonight.

The actress who plays Asha was surprisingly brilliant tonight!!

Yes she is good. Interesting storyline too.

Next week she's told that the treatment hasn't worked and she hasn't long left at all.

Asha is a very good actress, it is disappointing she has to act along side Dev who is terrible, that said, he was slightly less terrible than usual in last nights scenes.

Asha was really good last night especially in the school scenes and with Mary.

Mary can act and is bearable when she’s not acting like an idiot and telling stupid stories about her mother.
