Also what do people think that this upcoming teen storyline that’s going to be on the show will be.

Apparently it’s a tragic story. I wonder if they’re gonna do something drugs related or perhaps that’s too similar to Hollyoaks right now as they’re doing a storyline like this. It could explain why some of the teen characters have been recasted though.

Debbie has to be one of the most awful characters in any soap currently :drama:

I’m howling at last nights episodes. Geoff dancing to Mr Bombastic and the way Sally was back to her snobby comedy self.

I really enjoy episodes like that were they show the humour and write scenes for characters that perfectly fit their personality. One of the strongest episodes for a while.

Debbie was actually funny last night too. The best she’s been for me.

I wonder how different the story would’ve been if corona didn’t exist and if that’s partly to blame for it not hitting us the way it’s supposed to.

Sean getting more screen time now as well due to his son being back  I know he will never ever leave because for some reason the producers think he’s much loved but ffs. he’s the worst representation of a gay character I’ve ever seen in any TV show ever. There’s no point to his character either like for someone who’s been on the show for the best part of 20 years what stories has he actually had (I mean you could also say that for characters like Kirk as well) but Sean’s just so dated and cliche like a stereotype of a character. I hate it when he’s pushed more to the forefront of the show and having his son back I’m fearing that they’re gonna kill off Violet off screen just to give Sean a story.

Ah I love Kirk though   My husband can't stand him though!

It’s always strange with Sean I don’t know if he’s popular with the general public but across Twitter, and tv forums he’s one of the most universally disliked characters on TV

The show in general needs a cast clear out though. They say it’s the soap you never leave but it’s also the soap what over half the cast have been in for yeses without having a single storyline.

It's tricky working out which ones should go though as some of the cast are like essential Corrie characters...

The Barlows

The Platts (inc Audrey)

The McDonalds

The Websters (inc Sally)

Rita, Roy, Tyrone and Fiz, Eileen...

They all make part of the bare bones of Corrie it wouldn't be Corrie without some of them (even if the likes of Steve, Liz, Fiz and David are terrible actors).

I guess it's who they view as essential Corrie, perhaps they think Sean fits that bracket?

So many of the newer (like last 10 years) actors and actresses just don't contribute to that I don't feel, I mean I watched a classic Corrie the other day and every actor was like a CLASSIC corrie character, Curly and Raquel Watts, Judy Mallet, Sally and Kevin Webster, Gail and Martin Platt, Rita, Emily, Betty, Ashley and Maxine Peacock, The Battersby's... I was like WOW... it doesn't have that feel anymore, but then a lot of the classic characters are just background too like Rita, Gail, Audrey etc.

I thought the Connors were a great addition to the show though, Michelle and Carla are classic characters now.

I can't watch Debbie, it's got to the point where I'm watching on ITV Hub to fast forward her

I felt it was impossible, but Sean has managed to become even more unbearable.

The acting has reached new levels of bad.

His acting last night was beyond terrible. It’s the way he’s written as though we’re all supposed to think he’s this loveable hilarious kind of person when he’s the total opposite. I’m still a bit nervous that they’re planning on killing off Violet too as a way of bringing his son back on a permanent basis as that’s been discussed that Dylan is coming back more permanently at some point.
Re-started watching Corrie again after falling out of the habit since going back to work in the summer - it's just as great as it was in the first half of the year! Easily the best of soap of 2020. The Oliver storyline is heartbreaking but such a good story in the way it has brought so many characters together. Jane Danson knocked it out of the park on Friday's episodes.

Next week, according to the TV Guides:

Leanne finally accepts that she needs to release Oliver from his suffering and her and Steve say goodbye to their son

Watched it for the first time in a while last night, felt like it was 2010 again. Peter having a relapse telling Carla where to go, next things she’s off with Adam. The writers are terrible.

Summer coming back 5 year older and being sassy with New Todd.

I have to say New Todd is pretty good. I really liked the OG actor and character before the off screen incidents happened and even though looks wise there’s absolutely no resemblance what so ever I think the actor is good and the character of Todd in terms of personality and mannerisms is quite similar to how Bruno would’ve done it so yeah I’m liking Todd 2.0.

Billy has been very hammy lately though like more than usual although Sean still easily takes the biscuit as the worst acted character.

I think it's a new actress playing Summer now.

Ofc  It's just always jarring at first when a character comes back from a break with a total personality transplant and older looking actor, but she she can't be half as bad as the first Summer!

Alongside the 1997 repeats, ITV 3 are set to air episodes from each anniversary to celebrate Corrie's 60th.

It is said that Gary hears Faye's muffled cries from the office and Faye emerges crying with her clothes ripped. The assault will leave Faye traumatized.

I had a feeling that they would go down this route with Ray and Faye.
