April 9, 20179 yr I would be massively surprised if that Daily Star article is doing anything other than predicting. Harry will definitely be ahead for the first couple of days. It is by Wednesday onwards it gets a bit more tricky.

It's as accessible as other US crossover hip hop hits we've had recently. Also, the Kendrick video has had a huge reaction! Surely part of the reason for its success.

April 9, 20179 yr Mannequin Challenge was essentially just an ad for the song. A track used prominently in an ad or on a TV show everyone watched ten-fifteen years ago would have had the same kind of boost. Essentially a youtube trend is just another way of helping a song reach a wider audience than it would've otherwise. Whether Black Beatles would've been a UK hit would depend entirely on whether it got airplay. Case in point, Rae Sremmurd's earlier US hits that are just as accessible but not playlisted or promoted here and so didn't make it very high in charts. e.g. wzMrK-aGCug (UK #93) SYbh6ob_R9M (UK #137)
