It’s currently doing the rounds on Twitter as Dan from Imagine Dragons has done an interview but artists who trash-talk their music.

I love Dan, but I do think he needs to try and ignore negative comments - every musician receives them.

Particularly Foster The People, as Mark's comment was clearly a joke.

Did you just say that Tootime sounds nothing like Drake’s song? Did I read that correctly?

EDIT: nvm, you removed it

I removed it because I was trying to stay out of negativity, but yes.

And calling Matty a piece of shit for a comment when he was in a negative part of his life (he went to rehab not long after that time), yet supporting Cardi B with what she did is ridiculous:lol:

Whenever he said it, that article is a perfect representation of why I can't stand him and his pretentious attitude :drama:

You do realise people can dislike your fave and you don't have to get defensive and pull into question their opinions etc?

Yeah, but it's just not even relevent to the topic of this album.

Even Matty himself described TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME as "Drake-y" :kink: it's definitely inspired a lot by songs like One Dance.

There's no harm posting other 1975-related stuff in here, it's not like there's a general 1975 thread to discuss matters like that. It's a bit of an arrogant statement to make, I must say. Matty's a talented musician but I always hate it when artists diss other artists in that sort-of way. It's unnecessary and just makes you look twatty.

Well, all I can say is I feel he's changed since the rehab, and tbh I wouldn't expect him to say that sort of rubbish anymore. :P He's not as pretentious as he was during that drug-filled era :P

He's more open as well to the pop world in general, the band and Shawn Mendes have been teasing a possible collab recently.

‘Not related to the album at all’. How come it’s alright for you to post non-album related content then?

That Tweet is talking about a song on that album. (Mine)

Explanation for what happened :P

Someone there also said straight afterwards they were both laughing - that video was so out of context.

I believe it's Owen Davies, who used to be a member but left quite early on to focus on studies, now he occasionally helps with their shows.

That reads like he’s just trying to save face after criticism tbh. In the clip he doesn’t look like it’s all a big joke.

Except people there have said he (and the guy) were laughing about it straight after the song. If it is the guy I think it is (Owen), they've known each other since high school.

Matty always goes really emotional during that song.

don't think there's another band at the moment that I dislike more

Insane headlining set at Big Weekend, one of the best crowds all weekend as well - banger after banger and the best 'selling petrol' crowd response yet!

Reading and Leeds in August will be even better!
