May 1, 20179 yr No midweeks today i'm afraid. There's nothing at the OCC website and Music Week have just republished the midweeks from last Monday. i assume the OCC will give a mini-update in the morning. I just had a quick look as well in case something dropped, the same as fortnight ago, its going to happen again at the end of the month. To be honest the mini update tomorrow morning from OCC is hardly inspiring sometimes as you don't get the whole picture, pretty much the basics. Thinking a top 40 update will be available from MW on Wednesday, unless a white fluffy dickie bird comes my way tomorrow at some point :D ha ha
May 1, 20179 yr DJ Khaled song is 90% copy of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n49qi-dU9IE I thought DJ Khaled was behind 'Konichiwa' song but not. That artist have a goldmine right now i guess he is waiting for the dong to get more popularity before steps into action He has a huuuuge case here But some people here still are deaf and will claim James Arthur did not copy Adele in his 'Way you won't l;et go' etc Omfg THIS!!! Everyone copies Adele these days. Heard Pink screeching along to shet ballads trying to be her??? Or allll of 2013 being ballads in first half of year to copy!!!
May 1, 20179 yr I think Ed will comfortably keep the #1 album (i don't see Gorillaz managing 40-50k but a #2 debut at least would be nice) Yes it is looking more like Ed will nab a ninth week, I agree he should stay above 40k and can see Gorillaz being more in 30-40k range.
May 1, 20179 yr I think DJ Khaled is going to have the #1 single as CB don't have the 59p price tag no more from iTunes. All you need is around 47k+ for a #1 single this week
May 2, 20179 yr If DJ Khaled gets it, it'll be the first time since September where a non-British act has topped the singles chart Edited May 2, 20179 yr by Hadji
May 2, 20179 yr If DJ Khaked gets it, it'll be the first time since September where a non-British act has topped the singles chart As lead artist. Zara Larsson isn't British.
May 2, 20179 yr And neither is Sean Paul of course. I suppose it would the first entirely non-British chart-topper since September though.
May 2, 20179 yr I think it's pretty much guaranteed that "I'm The One" will be number one now, at the top of both Spotify and iTunes charts :P If "Despacito" takes off in the UK like it has in the US then it could be the second time in less than a year where Justin Bieber is #1 and #2 in the charts both as features  Which would also be the third time in less than two years where he's occupied both top slots (although back then he had #3 also)
May 2, 20179 yr I feel like such a hypocrite for being so annoyed about Ed's domination when I have had absolutely no issue with Justin's admittedly more prolonged domination. I liked all 3 of Justin's invasive 2015 singles, both of his 2016 ones and I like these two new ones as well. The perils of being a Bieber apologist I guess.
May 2, 20179 yr Was sean de paul officially credited? I read he wasnt The OCC snubbed him and Anne-Marie but he is officially credited everywhere else, so I have no idea why the OCC didn't follow. But yes, he does count!

Justin's is a lot more spread out though, he's only spent 4 more weeks at #1 compared to SOY and thats over the course of 1.5 years
May 2, 20179 yr In 2015, Justin was at #1 with 3 different songs though, and Sam Smith, Sigala & NHS Choir all provided some light relief at #1 in between

His song is not a plaigarism of Adele
May 2, 20179 yr Oh please, James Arthur deserves his success. His song is not a plaigarism of Adele It's more the Script than Adele so if people are accusing they should at least be accurate 😄

It did feel like a lot more than that at the time, I guess because it was pretty much the first occurrence of a majority of someone's albums making it to the Top 40.
May 2, 20179 yr OCC updates are out Bon Apetit in at #39... She will miss Top 40 I guess. Gorillaz at #1 only 300 copies away from Ed :( Edited May 2, 20179 yr by Haarry
May 2, 20179 yr What a disaster for Katy. I saw some people were predicting a Top 10 debut before it was released :kink:
