I feel like Calvin's star is fading away. I really can't see him going top 40 with this next one.

I'd be very surprised if it missed the entire top 40 to be honest. Will probably debut in a similar position to Kygo 'First Time', whether it can climb from there depends on the song quality/commerciality.

I think Kygo is bigger than Calvin now

Calvin's a bigger name than Kygo, and with the right song, it'd be more of an instant hit for sure! Kygo's music is a bit more chart friendly compared to Calvin's newer stuff though I'd say (certainly more so than Heatstroke).

If his new release doesn't do well, I don't think it's a case of Calvin's star is fading - more the public seem to be getting pretty wary after the abominations that are 'Slide' and 'Heatstroke'

Not sure this is entirely true, I'll give you Heatstroke but Slide has been a big hit so is obviously quite popular with the public!

Calvin can easily get a big top five hit if he wants to (see TIWYCF, My Way) but he's made the artistic decision to change his style, I'm sure he's well aware that his new songs aren't as big hits as previous stuff but he has so much money and fame that he can make whatever music he wants and remain relevant. He's still as big a name as ever I feel.

Sunstroke Project actually climbing above SWEDEN THOUGH *.* Blanche also still climbing (albeit 2 places but it's still a climb!) whilst the 2nd favourite to win Portugal are slipping! 'Yodel It!' being the highest from Semi-Final 2 so far though <3

I do feel as though if the song is right and he has HHUK support from the off (and the bloody top 50 updates) he can debut top 10.

I liked his funky house stuff like Ready For The Weekend and Pray To God and some of his progressive house stuff like Outside, Under Control and I'm Not Alone. Some of his stuff I have found quite dull over the years like Thinking About You (such a disappointment for Ayah Marar imo after the amazing Follow U with Yogi), Bounce (this is a bit emotionless), This Is What You Came For (especially that awful you-ooh ooh repetitive boring drop).

 

I prefer Slide to This Is What You Came For, but I definitely wished Calvin if he is doing R&B inspired stuff to have at least put a faster beat to it so it could be R&B and his usual house style mixed.
