July 4, 20178 yr We were also linked with Iborra but, aside from our recruitment team being useless, he is also about the last type of player we need given the presence of Kouyate and Obiang. He should do well at Leicester alongside Drinkwater.
July 4, 20178 yr Huddersfield have signed Tom Ince from Derby and Tammy Abraham has joined Swansea on loan.
July 5, 20178 yr Alexandre Lacazette has completed his move to Arsenal for £46.5 million. I think he will be a good signing for them and could be one of the players in contention for the golden boot.
July 5, 20178 yr Author Alexandre Lacazette has completed his move to Arsenal for £46.5 million. I think he will be a good signing for them and could be one of the players in contention for the golden boot. Yes great signing. I think he will do well, but not golden boot standard. 10-15 goals is where I see him. Everton look like they're going for Rooney. Jesus, what an awful signing that would be.
July 6, 20178 yr £75m deal agreed apparently!!! That's come out of no where. Until today the firmest reports were that United were keen but understood he wanted a Chelsea return. It would seem as if that was not the case. Using Real/Morata the way Real/Player use united to generate interest in their cannon fodder or get better deals and f***ing up Chelsea's plans in a oner!
July 6, 20178 yr £75m for Lukaku is an outrageous piece of transfer business. Everton must be pissing themselves. He's just not worth that much. Jose looks desperado right jow and United won't be top four contenders unless they make a couple of smart signings quickly.
July 6, 20178 yr I am very pleased that Lukaku is joining us! I think 75 Mill is too much but I guess it wouldn't be the first time that we splashed out loads of money on one player. Lukaku is arguably the best striker in the Premier League and he will make a massive positive difference to us in the coming season.
July 6, 20178 yr That was a turn up for the books certainly didn't see that coming last night. Man United and Mourinho has pulled a real coup from Chelsea there. £75m for Lukaku though is quite a lot for him. Everton will probably use that to get Giroud as rumoured and I can see Rooney going the opposite way.
July 6, 20178 yr Author £75m is outrageous, but he is a good player. But just typical Mourinho.. bins him at Chelsea then buys him back 4 years later! He will score goals, he is a born goalscorer. However I think Morata is better. My one issue with Lukaku is if you watch his scoring record, he is pretty inconsistent. He is flat track bully against the smaller teams, but you can easily mark him out of games with good tactics. His record against the big teams is absolutely awful for such a good striker, constantly went missing.
July 6, 20178 yr Have you seen our record against the minnows? 12155257129075102975901275192057129075 shots on target. 3 goals. A flat track bully against the smaller teams is what we need. Someone who can kill off a group game against some random Ukrainian team in the CL or someone who can see off Brighton. For that reason I'm not opposed to him. I'm curious as to how he'll fit into our 'system' and whether the higher quality support around him from Mhki and Mata and Pogba and Martial and Rashford et al will make him sing or if he won't be able to cope with being a cog at the front of a machine instead of the only cog in the machine.

The only problem is I don't think he is as good as Ibrahimovic. Potential to have a higher ceiling yet of course. But he's not as technically gifted as Ibra, nor anywhere near the level of Drogba. Still, he will score goals. But I think your problem really is the fact that your goals aren't very spread out - it is missing from midfield. Must admit, there must be something funny going on though. By all accounts, Lukaku was nailed on for Chelsea and Morata for Man Utd. Plus I really thought Everton would have held out for far greater. Can only assume Raniola has something to do with it, and Man Utd will be giving a massive pay-off/ loss to Rooney. Still it's hilarious Everton are losing their best player :D
July 7, 20178 yr If this ends up with Lukaku going to United and Morata going to Chelsea, that's probably the better deal for both sides. Not to mention that Real looked like they were going to hold out for far more money from Woodward, but also Morata looks like a far surer prospect to slot into a team that's now expected to get results in the Champions League this season. Lukaku gets another year (at least) to improve his game before making that step up.
July 7, 20178 yr Heard rumourings of West Ham making an move for Javier Hernandez possibly. Huddersfield have signed Mathias Jorgensen from FC Copenhagen. Their 6th signing this week.
July 7, 20178 yr Apparently Everton are waiting on £90m for Lukaku allegedly. Everton are really milking it now...
