December 23, 20177 yr Thank you so much Ne Plus Ultra for providing these. I find them completely fascinating <3
December 23, 20177 yr ^ On Haven they have airplay charts dating back to Nov/Dec 1991, you might have to be signed up there to be able to view them - http://fatherandy2.proboards.com/board/6/a...y-chart-archive
December 23, 20177 yr Really interesting list. Why was 'Tears by Clean Bandit number 1 on airplay when I think it peaked in the official chart in May/June?
December 23, 20177 yr Also great to see Brandon Flowers getting one at number one with Crossfire! As far as I can see no Killers songs made it though. Surprised Human never managed it.
December 23, 20177 yr Or When We Were Young as the big follow up! I think unfortunately I assume it mustn't have been blocked by I Don't Feel Like Dancing just as it was in the official chart 😫
April 13, 20187 yr Author Updated with parts of 1981, 1982, and 1983 from Record Business magazine and all of 2018 so far.
April 13, 20187 yr Really interesting to see songs that struggled to reach the top 10 yet were no.1 on airplay for weeks. If airplay had been merged with sales like the states it would have made for some interesting charts and may seen some songs get deservedly higher peaks. Happy no.1 for 16 weeks though :o I suppose I shouldn't be surprised at it was played to death for ages at the time but still that is really impressive.

I remember in 1995 I had a magazine which came in addition to my subscription of Billboard - it may have been ‘Music Monitor’ and they printed a UK HOT 100, I remember ‘Search For The Hero’ by M People peaking at #1. Does anyone have access to these charts?
April 14, 20187 yr Thanks for posting Torn really did rule the radio Also Lutricia McNeal , was always on capital . Interesting that ‘when You’re Gone’ topped the radio Charts many weeks after release. The good old days when radio was varied and interesting .
