Steve Parish the Crystal Palace chairman is a snake. Yesterday they showed some tweets that he wrote in which he said that he would stick by Frank De Boer. I will be so annoyed if they suddenly decided to turn up when they play us in about 2 weeks time because normally when a team changes manager their performance levels increase almost straight away.

They have not even been that bad really. By all accounts they were unlucky against Burnely. I suspect the real result that irked the chairman was the first game against Huddersfield.

A few times last year Liverpool faced teams just after they had sacked their managers.. good to see it not happening to us straight away!

That will ease a little bit of pressure on Bilic following that win over Huddersfield.
Hodgson confirmed as Palace manager.. good luck to the Palace players. Benteke soon to be on corner duty :D
Indeed the very best of luck to Palace with that appointment. How long do we think he'll last for?
Roy Hodgson to Palace really?

I think De Boer has broken Les Reed record at Charlton Athletic for the least amount of games managed in the Premier League and then getting sacked.

How many other permanent managers of a top-flight club have been sacked without seeing their team score a league goal?

If anyone is watching the Bournemouth v Brighton match tonight watch out for the Bournemouth mascot Felix Brown. He is an 11-year-old who was diagnosed with a form of cancer early last year. He has been writing a blog on Facebook since then and has always maintained a positive attitude.

His hero is former Bournemouth player (now at Reading) Yann Kermogant who had leukaemia himself as a child.

No surprise that Stoke lost today, you can trust them to turn into Real Madrid when the top six come to town but when they play teams like Newcastle they're not as fired up for it and end up losing. True mid-table mentality!

I suppose the media will say that Man City will win the league after winning 6-0 today, forgetting that they've made this kind of start every year for the past 2 or 3 seasons.

Yep. Quite silly really, this Watford team had pretty much their entire first choice back line out & have flattered to deceive so far for me this season.

Did they forget how much they struggled to beat Brighton & Bournemouth then drew at home with a very unconvincing Everton side? We'll see what they're about when the big boys roll up (I'm not talking next week against Palace, that could be anything-nil )

I can't really envisage Man City winning the league because I get the vibe that when they suffer setbacks they wont bounce back quickly enough from them and Pep Guardiola strikes me as someone who wont be able to handle pressure well. Man City definitely wont be having it their own way all season long and I can see them dropping quite a lot of points around January/February time. Chelsea are the team to watch out for in my opinion because they have already shown last season and this season also that they are good at reacting positively to setbacks.
It's way too early to tell anything about the title - but only City, Chelsea and Man Utd are competing. Can't see Liverpool, Arsenal or Spurs being anywhere near this year, too many factors against them. I do think if City keep Jesus fit all season they will be in with a great shot of the title though - what a player.

That was a boring match between Chelsea & Arsenal but it's the best result for Man United. Hopefully we'll beat Everton now!
Think united still are favourites - seem to have a more solid team!

City looking pretty terrifying the last couple of weeks. Watford have had a good start to the season, and didn't actually play that badly given they wound up losing 6-0.

United have been very efficient in the last couple of matches. Completely switched off for most of the game once they'd gone ahead and a better team would have nabbed an equaliser, yet they somehow still won 4-0. Lukaku and Matic have obviously improved them but I'm not convinced they're 15-20 points better this season, which they'd need to be to win the league.

Man City vs Man Utd will be an AMAZING game for a neutral. Both sides have been outstanding so far, it's so nice to see United (who I've always had a soft spot for) back at the top and with a new batch of young talent.

Knowing Mourinho though, it probably won't be :P

If ever there was game to highlight to difference between us this season & last season, it was today. We would 10000000% have drawn that last season but I'm much (well, reasonably) more confident of us seeing games out now. Plus, we've got more pace on the break (which has helped with a handful of goals after 80+ mins this season).

That game has 0-0 or 1-1 written all over it. Mourinho will play not to lose.

All of the big teams won today (and Watford). Lots of big 3 points, and the majority of the teams navigating some difficult away games.

The table is beginning to take shape towards the top now, all of the teams from last season's top six apart from Arsenal are there now and it's only a matter of time until Arsenal get there themselves. Next week Chelsea & Manchester City play each other so I'm hoping for a draw whilst Man United play Crystal Palace and we should win comfortably. I'm personally really looking forward to that game as I've got tickets for it so it would be extra nice for another goal fest at Old Trafford to take place.

On the subject of goals tonight's Match Of The Day was the most entertaining episode in ages! Goals galore in most of the matches.

I don't think the first Manchester derby will be a draw, 3 points will be taken but it's hard to predict who exactly will win. That game is in the middle of a tricky period for us which includes away games at Chelsea & Arsenal. If we're still near the top after those games then I will start to believe more that we will win the league this season.
