If they're seriously about retroactively banning divers, Herrera could be trouble.

City weren't at their best and didn't really create that many chances from open play, but United were so insipid.

Yeah that Herrera one was terrible - I do think if Man Utd got in City's faces a bit more they might have had some more luck. Their passing at times was incredibly wasteful and they made a few defensive mistakes. Lukaku is in terrible form right now, I don't know why Mourinho has not dropped him? Play Martial as a central striker? It's strange as he is literally stinking the place out.

Thought Michael Oliver had a good game too, wish I could say the same about the referee 30 miles across the M62...

No surprise to hear that Huddersfield have lied down for another of our rivals, I think they've lost to all of the top teams apart from Man United this season and most of those defeats have been heavy. I hope they get relegated this season.

Is this a conspiracy theory against Man Utd? How clueless can you get

Clueless?

Obviously I know it's not a conspiracy theory. It's just another example of teams raising their game when United come to town, the players and their fans were extra pumped up for the match that day and they deservedly got the win but there's no way you can say that they showed the same level of passion when they got pumped 5-0 by Arsenal, 4-0 by Tottenham, 3-0 by Liverpool, even last night against Chelsea they didn't offer much of a fight according to Chelsea fans who were there. The 2-1 defeat against Manchester City is the only other match against big six teams where they showed fight and determination.

Are you Kevin Keegan? :o

Haha no way is that the case Houdini - they won because they played

A lot better than united did!

The answer is - football is a weird game.

Does anyone have any idea how the expected goals figure shown on MOTD is calculated? At Old Trafford tonight Bournemouth had more shots overall and a lot more shots on target. However, Man U had the higher EP figure. OTOH, when Brighton lost 5-1 to Liverpool, the stats and the reports on Final Score suggested that the result was uncomfortably close to a fair one. However, the difference oil EP figures was a lot less than one goal.

I think it is done on the quality of the chances e.g. you may have one shot on goal but it is from 6 yards out - whereas you may have 4 other chances from different angles that were all on target but not as clear cut as the opposition's. I've seen a few different stats for the same game and their algorithms don't always match it, so I think it varies dependent on what stats firm they use.

To be fair to Huddersfield we were so bad that day it would have been a crime if they hadn't have won...

I think Spurs are the last big challenge for City, if they comfortably beat them then we're gonna ultimately see the 100 point barrier smashed for the first time in PL history.

For anyone that is interested Leicester vs Crystal Palace will be shown live on Sky One tomorrow. It seems like early Saturday matches are starting to get shown on that channel as West Ham vs Chelsea was shown there last week.
The most depressing PL season ever.

Really? It remains to be seen whether this City team are as good as the Chelsea team in 2005 or Man Utd in 2008 - those are the best teams I have ever seen in the Premier League. I think if the English teams are strong in Europe again then we will know how good this City team is. They just look unstoppable at the moment.

Well personally I can't see them not breaking PL points record now but even if they don't at least in those 2 seasons you mentioned there was some sort of title battle or interest in that department. Perhaps not so much for Chelsea '05 but even they weren't 14 points clear pre-Xmas. And I meant more in the fact that it's depressing to watch as a United fan!

It will be very interesting to see them come up against the likes of Barca, Bayern or PSG though. We've been seen as bit of a laughing stock across Europe for a good few years now so at the very least we could be thanking City for regaining some semblance of integrity for the PL!

Yeah I kind of agree with you, though the relegation battle is very competitive. It's the title race that is the most depressing ever!

I don't want to say it's over because you never know what could happen in the future but realistically the league was finished last week when we lost to Man City. Ever since then I've lost a lot of enthusiasm for the Premier League and I didn't even watch Match Of The Day or take much interest in the scores of today's matches. I didn't expect Man United to win the title before the season started but after our good start to the season I was hoping that even if we weren't top that we would mount a close and sustained title challenge which is something that hasn't happened since Fergie left. We've still made a lot of progress though compared to last season which is encouraging.

For the sake of entertainment it would be nice to have a season where top spot changes hand several times and it feels rare for a league title to be decided on the last day so that would have been nice as well.

As a West Ham fan, this is far from a dull season!

Must admit, Moyes is proving me very wrong. The team look so much more organised and fit - we could have won by 5 or 6 yesterday. Arnie is like a different player and I loved his celebration!

Apart from maybe Swansea, nobody looks like being cut adrift.

Yeh they normally do this on occasion by showing it on sky sports mix as well to promote their premier league coverage!
