Posted June 13, 20178 yr What is the most disturbing film that you've seen and why? Mine would have to be: Hostel 2. A nasty piece of work that was much worse than the first one. Vile to watch.
June 13, 20178 yr Threads. Truly horrific and actually quite plausible at the time (and still is in many ways)
June 13, 20178 yr Funny Games. Not for the faint of heart... Both are great but I have to give it to the original as the superior version
June 13, 20178 yr There is literally only one film that comes to my mind when I think about the most disturbing film and for me it's 'Martyrs' (2008). Such a harrowing, dark, unpleasant, unsettling, hard to watch & downright disturbing movie all the way through. But it's done in such a mesmerizing way that, although disgusted, you just can't stop watching.
June 13, 20178 yr Human Centipede. I regretted watching it, didn't even get half way through. Can't believe they made 2 more. :puke2:
June 14, 20178 yr It could be under weird but Eraserhead is pretty disturbing too Eraserhead is brilliant in every way possible. The soundtrack is among the greatest ever
July 2, 20178 yr August Underground's Mordum. I've seen every horror/thriller going, gore doesn't bother me in the slightest, but this film is from the absolute depths of hell. It's an underground horror film and it's literally like you're watching a real snuff video. I honestly can't stress enough how disturbing it is. A little example of how f***ed up it is - There's a scene where a woman is disemboweld and a guy chews on her spilled innards/has sex with them. Edited July 2, 20178 yr by jase.
July 4, 20178 yr ^Wow. The only film that springs to my mind when I think of disturbing would be 'A Serbian Film'. I've never actually seen it (nor do I really have any desire to despite a small part me wanting to just out of sheer curiosity) but a few friends of mine have & let's just say it didn't take much explanation to work out what it was all about.
July 5, 20178 yr I think Mordum is really well done but ultimately kind of boring. I admire it but it lacks any depth and whilst it's quite smart it is also quite shallow. A Serbian Film, meanwhile is really just trying to upset people by shocking them, to the point hat it's just silly. I'd recommend watching Mordum if you are so inclined because it is quite an experience but A Serbian Film is basically trash and trying too hard. Funny Games, for example is a much smarter commentary on our desire to watch violence/porn As an aside I'm surprised Irreversible is yet to get a mention. Edited July 5, 20178 yr by Severin
July 5, 20178 yr As an aside I'm surprised Irreversible is yet to get a mention. Yup, that'd be my second pick. The fire extinguisher to the face scene + THAT rape scene...truly grim. :manson:
July 5, 20178 yr Human Centipede. Only saw a few minutes or so when changing TV stations and that was definitely too much. Edited July 5, 20178 yr by Buzzjаck
July 6, 20178 yr Antichrist Just awful and so f***ed up. Hate hate hate Von Trier so much. I hated that too but Melancholia is one of my favourite films ever
