so there's going to be only two live performances per show? it doesn't know whether it wants to be a chat show or a music show.

the more I read about this the more I think it's going to flop.

I personally think this is good idea having a new music show thats not on all the time and will hopefully have some diversity of genres. The problem I think with TOTP was that it was on every week, the format of the show didn't change very much and remained corny and cheesy with people miming to their current hits, people grew tired of, it I know I did and I was still a teenager when it was cancelled.

I'm going to assume the host performs too, like on SNL/VMAs? It'd be odd for Jason and Liam to both host and not promo a song?

As long as the sketches are based on events in the music industry and interviews are with artists about upcoming albums, etc. then I think this could actually be a pretty good idea.

I would assume the guest-hosts will have a performance seeing as both Jason Derulo and Liam Payne will be in the midst of promoting current singles, then with two additional artists having their own performances throughout the show between other 'bits'. 2-3 live songs doesn't sound like much for a show about music but let's not dismiss it already.

It would also be interesting if occasionally artists perform covers of other songs, sing mashups, or simply perform with others just to spice it up a little and make sure it doesn't get too repetitive.

do we know if it's 1/2 hour or one hour yet? 2-3 live performances would be good if it was 1/2 an hour.

Half an hour as Eastenders is on at 8pm and I doubt they'd move that.

pretty sure the host will perform... too much of a coincidence for Liam to host near the same time of the Bedroom Floor release and not perform it.

According to Music Week he will

The opening episode’s guest host is Jason Derulo. Along with hosting duties and singing live in the studio, Derulo will be introducing performances from Charlie Puth and Jessie Ware.

It was pretty decent. Could've done with one extra act, maybe someone who isn't a big name but has something in the charts at the moment. And the sketches weren't funny. But the music bits were good. Nice set. Greg good as ever.

A top 10 countdown would be good.

The Dave Grohl sketch was really not funny. The Jason Derulo basketball sketch was rather humourous I thought

Is it an actual chart show programme tho?

I thought it was quite good - People are so quick to criticise, but will moan “we don’t have a music show” when it’s axed. The format works well and I think it will be a hit with the audience it’s aiming for (not the 30+ year olds pining for a Top Of the Pops revival).
Can someome merge this with the thread in TV forum. Got 2 discussions going on here :P

Its also chart related in a way, I rather it stays in here, if you don't mind.

tbh it's not my decision but it's more TV related than chart related... it's a TV show after all. all boost and impact conversation can surely take place in the iTunes thread??
