September 19, 20177 yr 76. Aquafina - Easy Love - Sigala Christine and the Queens,Anne-Marie and Tame Impala all finished in the middle of the pack while Awa was 11th but this appears to be a different Awa to the one who won BJSC74. Sigala won with a record points score of 477, 118 points ahead of Play My Drum by Sandra Lyng (Tinnmark). Kove's Hurts was 3rd for Aeroche. Easy Love is of course familiar to me as it got to no.1 two months after this contest. I like all the instrumentation but the vocals are quite painful to listen to. Michael Jackson must have been spinning in his grave when this came out. An instrumental version would have got a higher score from me. 6.7 out of 10. ozx898ADTxM AMAAZING SONG, got my 18, just like Safe With You - which woulda got my 18 too if I hadn't done a Maths and slept through thr votin. Are you gonna rate Important?? It is TECHNICALLY a winning song, as it won until the decision was overturned a week later. Ironically, it WOULDA won with ANOTHER Beaverdonia 18, as I didn't reckon much of the no.2 that contest, if I had remembered to vote in the one before, which woulda been an Aquafina 18 too for Safe With You. Three (more or less) back to back Aquafina wins - and WOULD have been if I had been in the third contest - when will yo faves??
September 19, 20177 yr Three (more or less) back to back Aquafina wins - and WOULD have been if I had been in the third contest - when will yo faves?? I believe Aeroche already did, and without cheating too!

You do realise Important would have only came 2nd if Lee hadn't fixed the results, right? So that's wrong. :P Absolutely love 'Easy Love', though its appearance in the contest was a bit questionable as it was starting to gain traction - I think it was on the R1 playlist and tipped as a potential future UK #1 before the contest even ended. 'Safe With You' is another enjoyable winner, and I was aware of Jacques Lu Cont and Thin White Duke being one and the same just didn't bother to point it out to you. :P A bit of a controversial winner though with it being quite well known 2 years prior to its appearance, and also (allegedly) Aeroche would have actually won if Lee counted the late votes.
September 19, 20177 yr Author I thought you would have been the most likely person to know,Dan. :funky:
September 20, 20177 yr I pointed out on plug.dj that Thin White Duke was Jacques Lu Cont! Never mentioned it on here tho IIRC ~ (his best work is 'Jacques Your Body (Make Me Sweat)' under the Les Rythmes Digitales alias though *.*) Need to catch up with this thread again ~

Add my 18 to Important without changed results and it woulf have won!! Lee didn't even cheat THAT much. He just made a small mistake in one final. If he were cheating, he would have cheated mine BEFORE when he was hosting and I fell asleep by giving me more time to vote as he knew I loved his songs. He didn't. He didn't even ask me to vote for him, just sending one reminder like everyone does. That's why I know first hand he isn't some huge BJSC cheater. He just got ummm overexited one time.
September 20, 20177 yr **CLEARING THINGS UP** I asked Joe on Thursday night why Mulgracia only got 1 point, because he'd previously said to me how big a fan of the song he was, and he then told me that Lee had asked him to change his votes, to move Mulgracia down. Joe agreed but ONLY to one or two spots (they originally were down for 13 points, Aquafina for 15). Joe was then asked by Lee if Mulgracia could be moved further down and Aquafina up to 18, to which Joe ignored. When it came to results, Joe noticed that Lee went ahead with this regardless - Aquafina were bumped up to 18 points and Mulgracia down to 1. Joe spoke to me because he was very annoyed, and it was me who reported it to the mods. He didn't report it immediately because he was worried about the reaction and the fact he may get punished etc. Joe felt extremely guilty having seen that it changed the winner, which was why I told Jack and Yu. I'm posting this to clear things up and Joe's not really in the mood to talk about it. He is extremely sorry for this situation (although it of course wasn't his fault, he shouldn't have been approached in the first place for such a thing) and will of course put his foot down harder in the future if this ever happened. Yes, that's the SANE actions of someone who is 'not cheating THAT much'. C'mon Michael stop defending the idiot and get back to being the semi-decent poster you can be.
September 20, 20177 yr I couldn't find that bjsc to see the points totals :/ Good luck judging the winners of that one when the thread has been archived :P It was Mulgracia's and Aquafina's at 1 and 2 - the songs will be listed in the predicta thread.
September 20, 20177 yr Yes, that's the SANE actions of someone who is 'not cheating THAT much'. C'mon Michael stop defending the idiot and get back to being the semi-decent poster you can be. Why are you so pressed? Every opportunity that comes up you feel the need to comment on myself, I apologised about the situation on numerous occasions and it's in my past so please stop being petty., You are aware that this is just a website, right? Is there any need to question somebody's sanity or call them an idiot when I've done nothing to provoke you!

Never mentioned it on here tho IIRC ~ (his best work is 'Jacques Your Body (Make Me Sweat)' under the Les Rythmes Digitales alias though *.*) Need to catch up with this thread again ~ He's also done some incredible production work for Take That, Madonna, Kylie, The Killers, Pet Shop Boys etc... <3 And Well, Well, Well for Duffy which, well, wasn't his finest hour.
September 20, 20177 yr He also produced Get to Heaven by Everything Everything, which is a fantastic album! :D
September 20, 20177 yr Author 78. Mulgracia - Fuel To The Fire - Rationale And so we come to what seems to be the most controversial contest so far. I think Mulgracia are the first country to win under two different names. They also won as Jamvale. Rationale finished 13 points ahead of Important by Mz.007 representing hosts Aquafina who were subsequently disqualified. Hurt Me by Lapsley (Joedonia) was moved up to 2nd place and Tiny Death's Ocean made the podium for Persephonia. I didn't know the story behind the scandal when I spotted this a few days ago but from what people have now posted on here today,I now understand what happened. Rationale puts in a cracking vocal performance on 'Fuel To The Fire' but the song itself wasn't particularly memorable. He was born as Tinashe Fazakerly in Zimbabwe. 8.4 out of 10. SHs6O6jC7Y8
September 20, 20177 yr Author I've just listened to it now. Exruciating. About 2 out of 10. I don't like most rap music, sorry.
September 20, 20177 yr Not a particularly big fan of “Fuel To The Fire” unfortunately, would have far preferred “Hurt Me”.
