Another week goes by where the biggest contender for #1 is 'Despacito' which could spent an eighth non-consecutive week there, though DJ Khaled could catch up with 'Wild Thoughts'. New releases include Rudimental's comeback single 'Sun Comes Up' featuring James Arthur, the second single from Liam Gallagher titled 'Chinatown' and YouTube star Samantha Harvey's debut single 'Forgive Forget'.

In the albums chart the big release this week comes from Calvin Harris with 'Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1' but he has competition from Ed Sheeran whose 'Divide' is still selling well especially off the back of his Glastonbury performance last weekend. Also contending for the top ten is 'Hydrograd' by Stone Sour and TLC's self-titled album.

NO OTHER SALES INFO

Interesting week with the new rules, will there be an exodus?

hope the Glasto effect is over and Calvin can beat Ed
I hope TLC do good! Don't know what to expect. Does anybody know if the albums for Kickstarter donators will count as a sale?
Symphony, Shape of You and Swalla should all be hit by the new 300 - 1 rules. Is it definitely this week the new rules come into play, or is it after next Friday?

Jay-Z has probably given up his chance on a comfortable number 1 Album this week with the Tidal exclusive, suspect Ed will bag himself another week at the top.

Incidentally, an Indicator of how much 'Witness' by Katy Perry is flopping so far is it is all ready £4.99 on Amazon, crazy that iTunes are selling the download version at £10.99, no surprise it is sitting at #93 in their chart.

Curious to see how high Calvin Harris can peak in the Album chart after the Singles haven't done that well.

One would presume that Jay-Z's album will eventually make its way onto Spotify and Apple Music once he realises that barely anyone actually uses TIDAL, in the same way that Kanye's album did.
One would presume that Jay-Z's album will eventually make its way onto Spotify and Apple Music once he realises that barely anyone actually uses TIDAL, in the same way that Kanye's album did.

It will apparently be available on Apple / iTunes 'next week' and physically at a later date, not sure about Spotify.

The phased release schedule will probably do it no favours in terms of chart position. Shame really, as the reviews have been good.

Calvin's previous Studio Album 'Motion' opened in November 2014 at #2 with sales of 37,325. Suspect we will see a substantial drop from that number and Ed may only need about 25k to get to top. Anyway, I thought Calvin had retired from Releasing Albums, it will be ironic if he actually performs better in terms of chart position with this Album than the Singles.
