I was surprised it didn't get performed on tour given it was a single at the time but then I guess the Shelby 68/Radio On performance was seen as a "head to the bar" moment for many people so Music's Too Sad may not have fared any better.
I was so disappointed this wasnt performed on x factor instead of a lifetime to repair which happens to be also one of my least fave performances by kylie.

Some odd choices in the campaign - singles ignored for other tracks but ultimately it made the album a success. I really did think that MTSWY had a chance to be a hit though when they started to announce promo slots for it.

Found some UK sales for 'MTSWY', from its sales chart run on the UKMIX Forums =

54 1,400

68 1,050

17 4,000

35 2,500

TOTAL: 10,000 [Estimate]

A very belated bump - 4,000 for #17 wasn’t actually true. #16 in the sales chart that week sold 3,254! So Kylie was closer to 3,000.

Tomorrow I’ll try and remember to look back on the other weeks it was charting, and see if those other quoted sales are true or not.

Sales updates on this and other singles from Golden would be an enjoyable read if you can access them.

Always love the sales updates.

This song so deserved a Top 100 placing at least - I really though that with Jack on board and the promo that it would happen :drama:

There was a very positive vibe about the song when Golden was released.

The song should have been performed on X Factor instead of A Lifetime To Repair as it would have had more of an impact.

A Lifetime To Repair experienced very little sales from the performance.

Vocally it was far from her best which didn't help.

A Lifetime to Repair wasn't a great selection of single.

It is a pleasant album track but many other greater songs were there to choose from.

Outside these weeks further sales would have been achieved.

Additionally, some streaming points would have been achieved.

Possible overall sales of 45,000 ?

That figure could now possibly be close to 50,000.

For a fifth single, that is very positive.

  • 3 weeks later...

That most likely equates to a maximum of 5 sales.

5 is better than none but shows a few have interest in the song.

Not sure what's caused it but music's too sad without you is up to number 99 on itunes Ireland

Get those extra sales :cheer: Might have had a radio play or something that caused 2-3 people to download it :kink:
