votes can presumably go astray for any number of technical reasons, no one is necessarily at fault accusing anyone of lying or deliberately affecting results (trust me Simon is not remotely interested in fixing the result as is being implied, he believes in actual democracy and this is only a bit of fun to some of us).

I suggest everyone just do as most of us do, keep a copy in your box (you only need to store it for a week or two) and just go "voted"" on the appropriate page. Takes, LITERALLY, half a second and 3 seconds out of your life respectively.....

I don't think anyone is implying Suedehead was fixing anything, or that he was at fault at all here (there's obviously no reason these votes would be intentionally left out). It's just a bit odd that we have 2 different people who are sure they voted but didn't have their votes received, when this has as far as I can remember never happened at all before. We'll never know what caused that so there's no use blaming anyone for it.
All I know is I've learned my lesson, always check the box for my sent box. For now, I'll just pray that I get cut some slack
So am I going to be banned because Suede didn't receive my votes? I'd understand if that's the case, although still a bit unfair because I definitely 100000% did vote. But, without proof otherwise, I'd understand it. Just a bit sad since I have an awesome song I was gonna send for August~

are you having a laugh?!

i sent in my votes, telling me i didn't when i know fully well i did and in time is a joke and to now be excluded is shocking...do you really think i'd make such public pavlova if i disn't KNOW i'd voted on time?! and i'm not the only person saying this

i double checked i was sending my votes to the right person then watched as it went through the process of saying the votes were sent; i find this insulting to my intelligence, as if i don't know after 11 years on this site how to use the PM system and now to be excluded?!

there is something so off here

when was the last time two nations publicly stated they sent votes in on time but weren't included? why hasn't suedehead himself said anything here?

I have PM'ed Suedehead2 myself and asked whether he had any votes from either of you guys but he insisted that there was no FARC or Aesthetica votes in his inbox.

We aren't implying that you don't know how to use the PM function jake but rather if you had saved a copy to yourself/tracked your message then you can prove you most definitely voted. It merely is keeping yourself right in these situations as we have one end who insisted they voted, and then the other who denied receiving them. Who are we to believe in this case?

In order to be fair on this with no evidence present to say that votes have been received, unfortunately us moderators have decided to proceed with a one month ban on Aesthetica, Ajanaeda, FARC, Kingdom of Horanius, Medhelnia, Mezidinia, N DNTN and Skall. #00274E have been excluded due to special circumstances. If one of the nations listed above has received new evidence to prove they voted then feel free to PM one of us mods separately to appeal and solve the issue but until then our decision remains.

I understand the decision, and I'm sad about it but it is what's fair so I won't cause a big stink about it. Probably is for the best anyway, this month will be a bit of a busy mess for me. I'll be able to come back in September and slay you all~ Good luck to everyone!

Question though: am I still able to vote in the contest even though I'm banned from entering? I may still try to follow along if I can find the time~

Edited by travis

I assume this means FARC are getting a full 63% deduction then? Can finally get a finalised version of the scoreboard posted 4 days later if so  (as Suedehead replied to me now confirming Yehesi were the only late voters).

I kinda get this decision as we wouldn't want to set a precedent for allowing people to just pretend they voted so they don't get banned etc. but kinda sucks for Jake and Travis if they did go to the effort to vote. Ah well ~

22nd??? I thought I was 19th.

You'll end up 21st but yeah, New Lexico's fixed votes knocked you behind a couple others oops ;o

I would just not bother banning any of the countries from this contest and starting afresh next month

Omg next contest is gonna be a MESS with all these bans

(Also yes I was a latevoter, I'm assuming I get a 15% deduction?)

Yes Tim as you voted late but before 4PM, you only receive a 15% deduction and no ban ^_^

This type of confusion also happened last year with Noah who also went through the effort to vote but almost got the ban. It just feels messy bc we've had problems like bad internet connection, messages not getting sent, etc. and it's something out of the poster's hands. The ban might probably deter them from entering the contest again.

idk it just seems sketchy.

hopefully Triangledonia, Buzzjack Mountain and Thelonia return this month then I think that's at least 60 if all the non-banned countries also enter.

+ Scherzland hopefully? Didn't Kye say he was returning?

I don't think we're getting 60+ though. I hope I get that AQ bc the next contest already looks messy.

60 isn't the dramatic cutoff point it once was remember guys. We changed those rules. If it's like 58 it'll be 19 qualifiers and still 18 points. As far as I'm aware.

Surely the next contest can't be as messy as this one has ended up being (not forgetting that there was also a missing votes controv in the semis, albeit one that got resolved before the results) Quite eager to move on ~

(once the final scoreboard is confirmed!!1)

hope gooddelta notes this down for his (long-awaited) most controversial BJSC moments thread!!1 (though this really doesn't come close to certain other controversies)
