July 30, 20178 yr We be losing Little Mix, Rita and Maggie from the top 10, due to the ratio change. Only Maggie, as Little Mix and Rita increased sales last week Edited July 30, 20178 yr by onehitwanderer
July 30, 20178 yr Are Snakehips really likely to enter T40, or are people just assuming that because they're Buzzjack faves?
July 30, 20178 yr Are Snakehips really likely to enter T40, or are people just assuming that because they're Buzzjack faves? They are? They're probably borderline depending on their Spotify progress throughout the week.
July 31, 20178 yr I feel like Snakehips could end up doing similarly to how Instruction did first week, top 40 in the mids but just missing out. I'd like to be proved wrong though. Realistically the only newies this week will be J Balvin (100% certain) and MAYBE Duke Dumont. EDIT - oh, and Arcade Fire! I reckon they'll just scrape in at 38-40.
July 31, 20178 yr there were news a couple weeks ago that Sam Smith was filming the video for the lead single of his album, so should be out soon... think he's also the featured artist on the new Clean Bandit single, but no clue what's coming first also read lots of rumours about a new Taylor single in August
July 31, 20178 yr Sam Smith, Clean Sam, and Taylor singles all have a high chance of reaching number one I think. Sam Smith is very much the type of artist who many people get sick of hearing very quickly no matter how great the song is so it could all depend on which gets released first. Taylor will need to be on Spotify if she wants to make it to the top though, considering the fact that she only just added her back catalog to Spotify she may well hold this new single back from it for a while. Avicii's long awaited return is this Friday too which I'm 90% sure is a collaboration with Rita Ora, so there's all the chance that could compete for top spot in the coming weeks. In a perfect world, all of these artists would reach #1 at some point over the coming months in the spirit of chart freshness (along with Dua Lipa )
July 31, 20178 yr Whilst in HMV over the weekend saw a few recent Albums down to £4.99, Katy Perry's Album 'Witness' is back to £4.99 again I guess with hope of it holding stable just at the point it was looking like it might drop out of Top 100. Also pleasingly Dua Lipa's album was down to same price - hopefully the success of 'New Rules' can push Album back into Top 20. For Dua Lipa Price matched on Amazon and Deluxe Version only £7.99 as well.

July 31, 20178 yr IT'S THIS WEEK???? Hmm well for some reason I thought so  The video is out on the 8th August so either the single & video will drop the same day or a release this Friday (for all the benefits of releasing on a Friday) and then the midweek video release for promo support. I could be wrong, but it should definately be out by next Friday :P

July 31, 20178 yr There's no confirmed date for the Avicii single but someone who worked on the video said it was coming 8th August, not sure if that's for the song, video or both.
July 31, 20178 yr Not only are the mids I have without ACR applied but the mids have all Spotify data missing for the week, and one day of Apple Data (the streaming data will likely be missing from OCC's update too). Album top 5 is a bit more accurate, though streaming data is of course still missing; 1) Arcade Fire 26,564 2) Ed 5,871 3) Alice Cooper 4,903 4) Rag N Bone 3,530 5) Lana Del Rey 2,940 A very strong #1 on the cards for Arcade Fire, I can see Alice Cooper being overtaken by Rag N Bone Man and Lana by the end of the week though, especially with streaming added. Passenger is #17
July 31, 20178 yr Fantastic for Arcade Fire, richly deserved #1! I am of the same opinion. Everything Now is a wonderful single that i hope can reach the top 40.
July 31, 20178 yr Author Not only are the mids I have without ACR applied but the mids have all Spotify data missing for the week, and one day of Apple Data (the streaming data will likely be missing from OCC's update too). OCC could have given Radio 1 an updated version, its happened before, we shall see later. On a different note, great sales for Arcade Fire
July 31, 20178 yr wow great sales x Arcade Fire I kinda imagined Passenger could underperform since he announced the album 2 days before the release so there was no time t build up any buzz... pity cos his last one went to #1
