It's not usually this blatant though. There's a difference between artists following the popular sounds of the moment and making songs in those styles and 2 X Factor acts getting on remixes of existing Latin hits in the space of a month.

Note I'm not saying there's anything *wrong* with this. It's just hilariously transparent, to an even greater extent than trendhopping usually is.

Oh yes, no I agree on all points, but I remember after Sorry was a hit the first few tropical pop songs had the same reactions, with people saying it was blatant bandwagon hops (Little Mix did that too of course, just late into the trend...Hi Touch! Hi No More Sad Songs!). We're so used to that trend now that it's become a norm in the charts.

It does seem very obvious and its not as though LM even need to ride on this wave given the success of their last album/ singles.

It feels desperate for a band who don't really need to be

CNCO are also from Syco, so I think it's more Simon trying to get them a UK hit and using his biggest asset, Little Mix, than trying to get Little Mix a hit when they're just coming back off 4 big hits.

Yep. This is not for Little Mix. This is for CNCO for sure. Well in the UK at least. Any boost for Little Mix is just a bonus over here. Hopefully it can give them a leg up in territories where they wouldn't usually, but I'm really not sure if it'll do much for their careers in those parts of the world.
Not saying I disagree that there's anything wrong with it but which popular artists jumped on the bandwagon making their sound suddenly Britpop or Indie?

Kylie Minogue

The remix is 100% for CNCO promotion and the only reason why Little Mix are doing it is to add another hit on their already long list of hit singles in the UK (and arguably Ireland).

This would not help Little Mix at all in Spanish speaking countries as Regueatton Lento is long done and dusted and I doubt they will re-release it on radio or TV. CNCO have a current single on promotion and charting high in all these countries: Hey DJ featuring Yandel.

IS it weird that the new Chris Brown song is not on Spotify? Top 15 on ITunes.
It's on Spotify.

Oops, sorry. 2 Minutes, just weird.

Kylie Minogue

I see that era as more of an artistic direction than jumping on a bandwagon. "Confide In Me" already showed her hand.

if something, it was commercial suicide for Kylie to go indie
I have, but when the staning becomes ridiculous i mix it up ;)

Yup.

The stanning over that vile puppet band is ridiculous on here. They are utter shet.

They wouldn't because they couldn't. Xx

Come back when your manufactured faves (do you even have any faves? Like, genuine question. You seem to talk crap about anything and everything to get a reaction) have done songs in English, Spanish AND Korean. :D

Sooo they learned both languages or just get told how to sing in them like Girls Alpud did with French or Christina Aguilera with Spanish? :)

They are band hoppers and smack of desperation. It is an absolute joke. They are no Spice Girls. Spices never chased trends but MADE them.

I do. Lady GaGa/ Katy, except frm their last albums minus 5 songs between them both. I have others who have rarely put a fot wrong too- more adult contemporary stuff like Norah Jones, Coldplay, except their sellout crap, VC, XX, Florence, etc.

CNCO aren't just "from Syco". They too are a manufactured group formed on a Simon Cowell produced music reality show. The show was "La Banda" and it was on Univision, a US based Spanish language channel.

Yup.

Wasn't Forever a trend chasing era? Hopping on to RnB because Destiny's Child and TLC had become huge? Not to mention in followed Pink's RnB album :P

Go on Chris Brown! The enduring popularity of 'Turn Me On' is great to see.

CULTURAL APPROPRIATION!

This is gonna give them a lot of attention in Latin America and possibly Europe, Aussie as well

To be fair, I thought NMSS was a real blatant bandwagon jump for them when they hadn't really so obviously done so before...

Touch, the single before? All pop albums have these kinda tropical influences, I thought they were jumping on the bandwagon too late at the time and it was dying off, but loads of artists are still doing it.
