  • Updated sales here: Too Lost In You over half a mil to become their third biggest seller. Round Round just under the half mil at 499k

  • Stronger, Shape, In The Middle, Caught in a Moment and Red Dress should all be above Get Sexy! That whole Sweet 7 era needs erasing tbh. 🧙‍♀️

Thank you!

We also have an update on Freak Like Me from April of this year:

To date it's notched up 379,000 UK chart sales, including 7.7 million streams.

As well as Round Round from August 2020:

Round Round was the second of six Number 1s for the band, in various guises, and has sold over 277,000 copies, and since 2014 has notched up 7.7 million streams.

And Angels With Dirty Faces within the same update:

Its parent album Angels With Dirty Faces is the band's bestselling album, with 929,000 chart sales.

Unfortunately, that's about it.

Oooh looks like theyre on route to their First million seller!

Just such a shame it will be for About You Now! But at least a million seller is a million seller and I shouldn't complain too much about that.

Too Lost In You has been certified gold (400k units)!

Ooh, only just saw this - yay! It does look curious to see their #10 peaking song third in their best sellers list, ahead of numerous #1s and higher placed Top 10s (in terms of peaks, Too Lost in You only places 18th highest)... but of course Too Lost in You deserved way more than #10 :(

I'm sure a lot of fans will remember how Atomic Kitten reached #8 in the same week with their single Ladies Night. I'm not sure whether that will have even sold 100,000 in total, but it did better than Too Lost in You in the first three weeks on sale, but after that Too Lost in You consistently managed higher positions.

However, Three was outperforming Atomic Kitten's Ladies Night album during the same weeks:

This is super interesting, Jay!

I'm so glad it's performed much better in the long run, and also so grateful that it achieved a position in the top 10 at all! What a tough chart that was.

I remember this happening, but still to this date it seems to strange. Like we see, TLIY obviously helped selling Three during the Christmas rush, which was the main point for a single release anyway but still. TLIY is probably one of their signature songs while Ladies Night is almost forgotten by the general public. I don't think anyone thinks of that song when you ask them to name five AK songs.

That's pretty impressive for the Sugababes. I'd imagine the only way they'd climb this list is if they were to feature on a dance smash. Unlike though. Still a phenomenal achievement.

Thanks for posting this Jay. From memory the Sugababes always had a bit more longevity in the singles charts than other girl groups. Or am I imagining that?

  • 1 month later...

5k in 12 years for the album is obviously tiny but it could be much worse than that tbh.

But I hope that's not it - an updated Top 20 during release week would be fab.

Same - 'About You Now' should have crossed 1m based on the updates in October 2019 and 2020 (812k and 908k respectively).

Great to see an update!!! Hopefully we can add a couple of thousand more sales to that total this week!

Offical Charts has always been good about posting about them so fingers crossed for that fuller update this week!

They know we're starving. :w00t:

At least this release will mean its well-stocked for another few years. I assume this release will at least bring it over 230k.

True, lets hope it has a decent shelf at HMV tomorrow  or will it not be stocked there?
