Sadly I don't think any of their studio albums will reach those targets any time soon. To the point we might not see it happen until the 2040s, lol, unless a reunion gives their music a very impactful

Thanks for posting, SamJudd. I have amendments for some of those sales!

All of the following sales figures were revealed in June 2009, unless otherwise stated:

Emma

Take My Breath Away - 81,015

Free Me - 55,563

Maybe - 77,247

Crickets Sing for Anamaria - 18,723

(After looking on Google, I think Free Me's 65k / Maybe's 80k / Crickets 27k were people over-estimating in predicting how much those singles had sold)

Melanie C

If That Were Me - 53,595

Here It Comes Again - 39,890 (Someone on Wikipedia must have randomly decided to edit it to 40,890 instead)

On The Horizon, 22,030

Here It Comes Again - 19,066

Geri

Look at Me - 326,000 (June 2017)

Lift Me Up - 346,000 (June 2017)

Ride It - 53,142 (Another Wikipedia edit, someone randomly adding 2k to the total)

Desire - 12,895

All the 2009 sales are posted here: http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...t&p=2626874

I certainly wish we could have some updates, considering most of these sales figures are almost 9 years out of date.

Emma Bunton Singles & Albums posts on the first page are now completed! I'm sorry it's taking me so long to complete this thread; I still haven't posted the information for Melanie C & Geri Halliwell. A work in progress!

While I was adding Emma info, I discovered a relatively recent sales total for Life in Mono! Official Charts Company revealed it had sold 53,510 copies as of 25th April 2016. They mentioned this in the comments section of this article. Its previously known total was 50,725 as of 21st June 2009. That's an increase of 2,785 copies in just under 7 years.

Life In Mono will go Silver eventually! (Or not)
I didn’t realise that Lift Me Up outsold Look At Me

Unfortunately not! :( 'Victoria Beckham' wasn't certified either. However 'Hot' is certified silver based on shipments (in fact it was certified 11 days after release, lol).
Did the GH make it to another week in the chart?
Smashing it. Your faves could never!

Greatest Hits is on course to spend a 6th week inside the UK album charts this year! Glad that it is building up a longer chart run. I'm certain it'd be a permanent fixture in the charts if it was actually on Spotify :( It's doing very well to stay in the charts based on CDs, downloads and primarily Apple Music when it comes to the streaming.

Was Melanie B lucky to reach number 1 in 1998 with only 86,000 sales ?

Still can’t believe less than 8000 people purchased her album in the first week of sales .

  • Author

Fairly lucky! If you were to rank the 52 weeks of #1 sales from 1998, Mel B was the 44th highest. 39 of those 52 weeks required 100k+ to be #1.

Some more info: The first week sales of Goodbye (380,711) made it the fastest selling single of 1998, and Viva Forever was the second highest sales figure with 277,911! Stop entered at #2 with 115,000, which was more copies than 22 weeks of 1998 #1s sold. :(

Incredible sales for both Goodbye and viva forever .

Viva forever was on album that had sold well over 2 million . I guess Geri leaving created the buzz.

Why could have been if they released new album late in 1999. But then again we probably wouldn’t have had the masterpiece that is NS.
