The weekly increases of Shout Out to My Ex by Little Mix are higher than Wannabe, and it seems to me like it could snatch Wannabe's crown as being the "best selling" girl group single by 2023, which will feel so weird. It's certainly on course to be the first girl group single to make it to 4xPlat. I love Little Mix, but... hmm...

That just seems so utterly bizarre, I know times have changed and with streams it's MUCH easier to achieve. But still. Not just Wannabe, but also song like Never Ever, Pure Shores and even Sound Of The Underground or Whole Again seem like songs that made a bigger impact and have really stood the test of time compared to Shout Out.. And I love LM.

Sadly I don't think any of their studio albums will reach those targets any time soon. To the point we might not see it happen until the 2040s, lol, unless a reunion gives their music a very impactful

Well it just shows how ridiculous streaming is really I mean Little Mix have supposedly sold more singles than The Beatles lol

I have to say looking at those download charting places I'm very surprised Baby please don't stop or You're all I need to get by didn't chart at all!

Streaming is ridiculous, the amount of million sellers is crazy but back in the day getting to such a milestone was a massive achievement and news worthy.

I know it's so sad! I remember when the 100th million seller was achieved it had taken decades to get there and it was a huge deal... there must be double that now...

As things stand, it won't be long until there's 1000 million "sellers" thanks to streaming

Why? They are trash. A commercial Simon Cowell manufactured band with little to no discernable talent x They lack personality, flare, nothing makes them unique, unlike GA, Sugababes, Spice or All Saints. Totally bland with thr most factory-produced pop imaginable! They are obsessed with how good they look too, pouring all resources into instagram!

I tooold you that their fans were all around the internet claiming they were the biggest band ever, and dragging the Spices, but y'all wouldn't listen!! I told you 1000 times and I have vindication!! Awful, awful manufactured band. That song is utter tripe as well.

I think Little Mix are fab! They are definitely up there as one of the best British girl bands of all time. Spice Girls, Girls Aloud, Sugababes, All Saints Little Mix and Bananarama are the top British girlbands by quite a long shot.

No. They are down there with Westshite as one of the worst of all time.

There is no reason to be this rude though. You may not like them, fair enough, but calling someone 'trash' is very unpleasant. Over the girls, LM have definitely proved themselves and, like spiceboy said, are certainly one of the best UK girl bands.

I mean I'm not a fan but I actually don't mind Westlift either tbf. A bit boring but melodic and the lead singer has a great voice. For me the worst bands are ones like Scooch, Same Difference, Pop, Daphne and Celeste... Trying to be on the same level of Steps or S Club but not achieving it... at all.

Ok but More than I Needed to Know (Scooch) and Serious (Pop!) are amazing *.*

They have screechy voices, dance around in whatever clothrs Cowell tells them to, focus on instagram, release awful music, and run around pretending to be bigger thwn the Beatles due to Cowell's use of streaming lol. If you look at thrm pre-streaming, they were a small band with low top 10 hits, around the size of the Saturdays, which seems about right.

They've not been with Simon Cowell since 2018!

This is very off topic xx

you're so mad lmaoo

reading through this thread.. jeez some of y'all are really bitter and.. odd? so threatened by little mix, you should be happy that a legacy that was laid out by the Spicegirls has been continued for so long and is upheld by Little Mix and that the Spicegirls lit impacted every current girl group & most early 00s female acts instead of mouthing off about how you don't like "shout out to my ex" (as if wannabe is... good lol)

What? Is that Dill Doe having a shite and very easily dispriven opinion on another popular girl group, is it?.... :teresa:

I actually love Shout Out to My Ex (more than the majority of the Little Mix forum does, judging by the survivor taking place there), I just think it would feel weird if it ends up with higher sales than Wannabe, because Wannabe is just that iconic and definitive... that doesn't mean I'm threatened or bitter!

Retaliating in here to call people bitter/odd, and to defend Shout Out while insinuating that Wannabe is bad... is that all that much better? :teresa:

(Also we all know Dill Doe trolls about Little Mix so that's to be taken with a pinch of salt)

And what have they done since then? Same song writers, same producers, just a different CEO in charge now. They are abysmal.

What legacy? It'll be Little Who? as soon as they split. Oh, remember when they promised to split if even ONE went solo? Lol x Why didn't they keep their word? Oh, that's right, they want more ARTIFICIAL NUMERS to claim that they're bigger than the Beatles  I woulrn't be surprised if they go full on Trevor's Broom at this point like thr Sugababes, replacing anyone who leaves the three. They are a small mediocre factory-produced pop group with overinflated numbers due to stans streaming over and over. That's it.

Well, ok then... 🤭 let's leave it there, because this is the Spice Girls chart/sales thread, not the Little Mix one.

i actually dislike shout out to my ex lol i don't think it's better than wannabe, but i don't think wannabe is the huge insanely good pop song its made out to be, it's just a big song.

but yes, me saying that it's odd to constantly come for Little Mix and that it reeks of bitterness when they're constantly brought up in other group threads is better, because I could definitely be worse and make personal comments about SG's talent and so on, but I won't, bc it's not helpful or even nice to read.

it's insane that they get away with that kind of talk on a moderated forum or that people have just grown to accept it, very weird behaviour
