August 30, 20177 yr Author Let's get this on the road and see how many of Riser's predicts were correct! (I'll reply to comments after I've done the next 5! <3)
August 30, 20177 yr Author 'Oh back up, baby, back up, did you forget everything?.' 25. Forever & Always 7f8LyanfpWE Kicking off the top 25 we have the 2nd song from Fearless to appear and the second version of 'Forever & Always'. Taylor describes the song as This song is about the breakup of Swift's relationship with Joe Jonas. She told The Los Angeles Times October 26, 2008: "It's about watching somebody fade away in a relationship. They said they were going to be with you forever, that they loved you, and then something changed in the relationship and you don't know what it is, but you're watching them slowly drift. That emotion of rejection, for me, usually starts out sad and then gets mad. This song starts with this pretty melody that's easy to sing along with, then in the end I'm basically screaming it because I'm so mad. I'm really proud of that." I love the ballad version but the original triumphs it for me *.* This is such a sing-a-long anthem wanna smash something song and is a fab upbeat breakup anthem <3 I love the lyrics, the production slays & Taylor's vocals are fab <3 A definite highlight from Fearless.
August 30, 20177 yr 'Style' is utterly SUBLIME from start to finish, I love the vibe and it's something that was done amazingly also in Run Away with Me and Friends. Her best song of all time for me
August 30, 20177 yr Author 'I don't know about you but I'm feeling 22.' 24. 22 AgFeZr5ptV8 Into 24th we have another single and a top 10 hit from Red, '22'. Taylor describes the song as "I wrote that about my friends," she said, "like finally I've got this amazing group of girlfriends and we tell each other everything, we're together all the time. And I think that was kind of the marker of me being 22, like having all these friends and there's all these question marks in your life, but the one thing that you have is that you have each other." I really really wanted to rank this 22nd but it just fell short!! This is the end of the 10.5/10 section and the next 23 are legit all time 11/10 top 100 of all time faves!! This has got better and better overtime for me and is always one of my go to songs if I'm in a good mood <3 It's so much fun and I love the lyrics and will probs have it on repeat forever when I turn 22  This is just pure pop done perfectly <3
August 30, 20177 yr '22' never really grew on me, always found it a bit lifeless :( Not worthy of being #22 on this as aesthetically pleasing as that may have been x :kink:
August 30, 20177 yr Author 'I just wanna keep calling your name until you come back home.' 23. I Don't Wanna Live Forever (ZAYN feat. Taylor Swift) 7F37r50VUTQ Into 23rd and we have the most recent eligible song for this list, 'I Don't Wanna Live Forever'. Taylor describes the song as Taylor Swift spoke about her collaborator in a behind-the-scenes video: "I've known Zayn for a really long time," she said. "I think his voice is one of those that is really rare and I think he's really special and wonderful and it's really, really amazing to get to work together." "It's amazing when you get to work with people who you hang out with because the question of 'Will we get along?' is already answered. 'Yeah, we'll get along. It's Zayn. We hang out, like, it's fine,'" continued Swift. "He's also incredibly talented and I feel really lucky to get to do this song that I'm really proud of with him." IDWLF is from Fifty Shades Darker and is the last song Taylor released which was eligible for this countdown! I fell in love with this immediately and this is one of my favourite songs from the past 12 months <3 Taylor's vocals are fab on this and they go really well with Zayn and I love the lyrics/production and this is a fab down-tempo track <3
August 30, 20177 yr Author 'Now we got problems, and I don't think we can solve them.' 22. Bad Blood (feat. Kendrick Lamar) QcIy9NiNbmo Into 22nd and we have the fourth single from 1989, 'Bad Blood'. Taylor describes the song as This betrayal anthem finds Swift chronicling the tension between herself and another female musician. The songstress claimed to Rolling Stone that the bad blood between the pair arose after her rival "tried to sabotage [her] entire arena tour." "She did something so horrible," Taylor said. "I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies.'" "And it wasn't even about a guy! It had to do with business," she added. "She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I'm surprisingly non-confrontational ' you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it." Another space, another single! However this is for solely the remix version, I like the original but the remix eclipsed it heavily and I'm not even sure the original would make my top 50 anymore :o Ignoring the theme/some of the childish lyrics but the latter more pertains to the original, this is another fabulous pop song and the production on the remix is KILLER. Kendrick's raps are fab and they fit fab with Taylor's middle-8 and chorus. And then of course the f***ing incredible video boosts this up even higher, easily one of my favourite videos this decade. <3
August 30, 20177 yr Author 'Just close your eyes, you'll be alright.' 21. Safe & Sound (feat. The Civil wars) RzhAS_GnJIc Into 21st and we now have ANOTHER single in the form of 'Safe & Sound'. Taylor describes the song as The sullen track was penned by The Civil Wars and Swift over the course of just four hours. "I had this title that I had been working with called 'Safe & Sound,' and I just knew that I wanted it to deal with the empathy, sort of the more sensitive side, the bittersweet side of this story," Swift told MTV News. "Never imagining that this would ever be picked or a single, 'cause it's a lullaby. This song was such an amazing experience, because it's like it just happened." This was literally a last last minute swap as I had a song originally in 21st and a song I just swapped it for now but I decided neither of those could miss the top 20 :o Literally my entire top 21 are in my top 100 of all time :o  This is just such an utterly stunning beautiful track which is gorgeous and gets better and better as it goes on <3 Taylor's vocals and the lyrics are fab and the song fits so perfectly in the fabulous The Hunger Games. This being one of her only tracks on Spotify for ages also meant I went back to it a lot more often than I would have which has enabled it to grow even more!
August 30, 20177 yr Author So Riser got 2/3 with Bad Blood & 22 *.* (oops that I had 4 singles in that section in the end due to my last minute change!!)
August 31, 20177 yr Safe and Sound <3 <3 Absolutely stunning song, her vocals on it are possibly the best of any of her songs, so haunting <3 I go through phases with it, stanning then not listening much but it would deffo be in my Taylor top 20.
August 31, 20177 yr I definitely agree with you Sam that the remix of 'Bad Blood' easily eclipsed the original! I can't believe quite how much of a turnaround I had with it. Originally thought the song was annoying and a weak link of '1989'... now I've given it a 10 in the Taylor rate! Amazing what a bit of slick production, Kendrick feature and blockbuster video can do for a song. One of my absolute favourite Taylor songs now. Can never praise 'Safe & Sound' enough  such a stunning song. Those Hunger Games songs were a brilliant way to bridge the gap between eras.
September 4, 20177 yr Author Top 20 starting tonight possibly if I feel a bit better! Any predictions? <3
September 4, 20177 yr I Don't Wanna Live Forever is underrated tbh I don't get the hate for it at all I love her and Zayn's vocals together. I also adore Bad Blood, yes the remix is far much better I love Kendrick's rap's, the new production and the video. Up their with Taylor's very best singles imo. Safe And Sound and 22 both good too.
September 12, 20177 yr Author I've been really busy adjusting to starting sixth form the past week so I will continue with this this weekend!
September 12, 20177 yr Excited for this to return (did my thread jog your memory? :heehee:) Just realised I haven't commented on the last few but Bad Blood is definitely my favourite of the recently announced ones although I do think the album version is my favourite version of it. It would probably be in my top 10 of hers for me  I've been exploring more of Taylor's album tracks and older singles so hopefully I'll know all the ones left to come in the countdown now :cheer:
September 22, 20177 yr Author WTNY is one of my favourites from 1989 and I agree with you in your commentary that it works so well as an album opener. It clicked with me ever since it was a promo single. I hope we get a promo single that good from the Reputation era  I'm still shocked that Wonderland wasn't on the main version of 1989 to be honest. That and New Romantics were two of the strongest tracks on the whole thing but didn't make the standard edition? :o At least the latter got the single treatment even if it did nothing charts wise :( Loving this so far  Thx Josh <3 Agreed, hoping we get some promo singles slayage now RFI is a single!! Taylor has SO many tracks that should've been on the main version! :( Oh 'Back To December' is lovely with its chilled vibes, one of my biggest highlights from her pre-'Red'. <3 I never knew it was about Taylor Lautner though, this is proving educational. Am I correct in thinking it was the second single from the campaign following 'Mine'? If so then that's another example of me preferring the second Taylor single to the lead, to follow on from my post in the 'Look What You Made Me Do' thread yesterday. Oh 'The Story Of Us' is fabulous also!! The singles from 'Speak Now' were hit and miss for me but that was definitely in the hit category along with 'Back To December', so it's funny they should both appear now one after the other. I even charted it in my personal chart at the time *.* 'Style' is fantastic, the chorus and accompanying dark-pop kinda production clicked with me straight away. #21 was a decent result for it without any streaming! The only disappointment about this was the video, I agree with you on that. The second worst of the '1989' era I think (behind 'New Romantics' as that was just a tour video) Thx Jade <3 Yeah it was the second single though iirc it's peak in America was from when it was a promo single! Glad you love TSOU & Style as well! Yasss at the former charting in your PC and it still annoys me how much bigger style could've been with streaming </3 Yep agreed with you on the video front, I always keep forgetting there's a video for New Romantics :kink:  Back To December is easily my favourite Taylor Swift single/Song its so beautifully written and produced and I love the message  Style and The Story Of Us are both great  Thx Harry <3 Agreed, it's so stunning *.* glad your loving S & TSOU as well! <3 'Style' is utterly SUBLIME from start to finish, I love the vibe and it's something that was done amazingly also in Run Away with Me and Friends. Her best song of all time for me  Thx Andrew <3 Run Away With Me <3 <3 I love all those kind of songs that have that vibe!
September 22, 20177 yr Author '22' never really grew on me, always found it a bit lifeless :( Not worthy of being #22 on this as aesthetically pleasing as that may have been x :kink: 'Haunted' to feature here please <3 :( it's such a bop! Haunted may or may not feature here x thx Andrew <3 Safe and Sound <3 <3 Absolutely stunning song, her vocals on it are possibly the best of any of her songs, so haunting <3 I go through phases with it, stanning then not listening much but it would deffo be in my Taylor top 20. Thx Liam <3 It's so stunning, I listened to it so regularly when it was her only song on spotify! <3 I definitely agree with you Sam that the remix of 'Bad Blood' easily eclipsed the original! Those Hunger Games songs were a brilliant way to bridge the gap between eras. thx Jade <3 I've not even heard the original in ages! The remix just completely slays it so completely agree with you there <3 I love how Taylor always has these movie songs to bridge the gap between era's! *.* I Don't Wanna Live Forever is underrated tbh I don't get the hate for it at all I love her and Zayn's vocals together. I also adore Bad Blood, yes the remix is far much better I love Kendrick's rap's, the new production and the video. Up their with Taylor's very best singles imo. Safe And Sound and 22 both good too. Thx Harry <3 SO agreed, idg the hate either & it's so underrated </3 Glad your stanning the rest as well <3 Excited for this to return (did my thread jog your memory? :heehee:) Just realised I haven't commented on the last few but Bad Blood is definitely my favourite of the recently announced ones although I do think the album version is my favourite version of it. It would probably be in my top 10 of hers for me  I've been exploring more of Taylor's album tracks and older singles so hopefully I'll know all the ones left to come in the countdown now :cheer: Thx Josh <3 Yep it did :kink: (until I became a messT again) Glad you've been exploring me and hopefully you will know/stan the rest that are to come!
September 22, 20177 yr Author and on that note let's acc start the top 20 :cheer: any predictions for 20th? it's an album track *.*
