'Friends' is a joint single and Justin is credited first, and yes I would call it an underperformance (=/= 'flop') for him so far when it couldn't even make #1 on a low sales week.

A top 2 hit is not a flop :lol: Underperformance yes but I agree with Dan that is not the same thing as a flop. Flop has become such an annoying buzzword online that it gets used for seemingly everything that isn't a number 1 :')

I personally think Taylor heading for #1 isn't her "underperforming" She's never had a #1 in the UK, She is bigger in America then she as ever been here. The fact she managed a over 50% lead on itunes and looking at her first #1 is great.

 

Her album sales probably be good to, Bieber couldn't even manage #1 last week. So wouldn't say Taylor is "underperforming" already give the song a chance it was bound to have big drops today. :unsure:

Friends is in no way a flop. An underperformance, sure, but it's absolutely not a flop. And Taylor is doing excellently right now, BrookeOlivia makes a great point in that she's always been bigger in the US than here, so of course her lead isn't as massive as it is there, but it's still very substantial as she's selling over double her closest rival for Friday's #1 (Dua, not P!nk).

But SURELY it is an underperformance for the fans, two of whom came for me aggressivley when I poured cold tea on their Taylor dreaming, when they were predicting it for a 150K DEBUT???

150k was never going to happen, I predicted between 80-90k and I still think that's what it will do.

I reckon 45-55k

150k was a ludicrous prediction even with streaming, especially considering Shake It Off debuted with 47k in pure sales back in 2014. I don't have a figure of how much digital sales have declined since 2014 but surely anything over 30k in pure sales is great (which she could definitely do).

Majority suggested around between 60k-100k
