Well those threads could have been deducted from the total and the Darius forum could have still charted, probably below the Taylor Swift forum after those deuctions so they could have still had their win!

 

Also I am sure not every post on the Taylor Swift Forum this week was about Taylor herself! :D A bit of off topic stuff is OK, look at the Robbie Williams forum which has quite an active off topic waffle thread. I agree the off topic stuff got a bit too much this week on the Darius forum though.

The difference in Robbie forum is iirc they keep off topic stuff to a separate thread and I don't see it spiral out of control. I do agree it was a bit off topic and the fan fic threads were a bit much especially as some of the discussion was about other artists role in the fan fic.

OK well off topic stuff spiralling out of control won't happen again on the Darius forum! Any off topic stuff we will try and keep low in quantity and will be kept to the off topic waffle thread there.

 

We should move on from talking about the Darius forum, there has been too much talk about it recently on other parts of Buzzjack (probably my fault in the first place though! ;) )

Afaik Darius isn't releasing music and hasn't done in God knows how long, surely that's reason enough to bin his forum...

2004. How he evne got a forum in the first place is beyond me.

Apparently Darius would have been #1 if it was included in the charts :lol: I looked in there just now and omfg... spam everywhere! :lol: it doesn't really matter if you count him as #1 or not tbh, you know he is #1 or you know he isn't, it's up to you and he's definitely got the attention/recognition here ;')

This is an online posters chart if people really get their knickers in a twist over "sabotaging" an artist forum for bloody Darius I suggest they go outside once in a while... If it wasn't the latest unfunny joke to wring to death and jump on people wouldn't care, it's ridiculous. It's not "effort" from the posters, it's TheSnake being stupid and others jumping on the bandwagon to encourage it. Baytree fair enough actually does discuss Darius as do the couple of others, but seriously he last had a hit in 2004 and we cannot keep an AF because someone thinks it's quirky and two or three others are discussing a musical he's in.

 

As for Miley me and Lee have basically volunteered to strip the forum because it just doesn't work. So don't bother being rude and dragging mods just because the latest """""joke"""" you piggyback on is under threat :lol: A lot goes on behind he scenes and between 15 or so of us and the GMs I think we are doing just fine at fiuring out what to do with AFs. Iz as been away and Chez doesn't have access to do that to forums so Miley remains for now. Just because one forum is dead doesn't mean Darius should keep his...

OK I wanted to stop talking about the Darius forum but once again I feel like I have to defend the forum.

 

The Darius forum has a few users who don't use the rest of Buzzjack as much. Getting rid of the forum will alienate them and probably lead to them leaving Buzzjack. Whereas the likes of the Miley forum's integration into the pop forum would not lead to any of its members leaving as I am sure the users of that one are all familiar with the pop forum.

 

Darius may not release music any more but he is a major star of musicals and has had quite a journey in terms of career from when he first became known by being on popstars to now. He still uses his singing voice frequently in the musical Funny Girl plus he has talked before about a third album being released and has also recently done a private performance at the Savoy Theatre with new songs (iirc from discussion on the forum).

 

If the Darius forum were to go from the Artist Forums the artist forums would just be like any other artist forum section of any other pop forum on the internet with just the usual artists you would expect on a pop forum. Darius adds something completely different and the fact he has done so many different things in his career and had the transition from pop to opera to musicals and now maybe films too makes him unique in the artist forums.

If Darius forum is moved to retro like Elvis forum how would that alienate the members tho?

If it was a separate sub forum there with the same web address as the old Darius forum though it wouldn't (and I would support that as a solution), but if it was just condensed into one thread on the retro forum it probably would.

Elvis doesn't get as many posts as Darius plus there are albums of pictures of Elvis like there are of Darius on the Darius forum which are often updated as he posts pictures on twitter and stuff.

The amount of discussion that Darius requires can easily be put into one thread where all the current Darius members can post in. He's not active enough/nor is there enough about him to sustain a forum no matter how hard the true Darius stans can work. You can keep arguing about how he's in a musical with Sheridan Smith but that's all he's doing now and how much can you talk about a show that is the same thing every night and is something the members will only be seeing once?

I am not sure how the web address should matter I mean could the Darius forum regular members not just bookmark the new thread or sub forum no matter what? I also want to point out if anything we are trying to not drive away regular members from the site as that's why the retro forum would be the perfect solution.

Yeah but they may leave the site as some of them have expressed on the forum how they like being separate from the rest of Buzzjack and are a bit suspicious of the rest of Buzzjack, as I think they may have had a few unhelpful comments from time to time from other Buzzjackers over the years.

 

Baytree iirc posted recently about bullying still being there now on Buzzjack like in the CoolClarity days or something.

If we never changed AFs because it may annoy a few people would be annoyed or miss it, we'd still have forums for the likes of Lucie Silvas and Enya :drama: Nobody is being pushed off the site or "bullied", the AF line-up has to be kept relevant and ydnamic. There is a retro forum, a pop forum, whatever else, to discuss Darius.

Can we do a new Dido forum please? Me and Grant could spam it to the top of the charts.
