Oh cool, ty for that second bit, had no idea it could do that :o

I managed to get the iPhone 8 for £607 or so and I'm getting it next week :cheer:

Is there any point to charging mats really though? I mean the mat itself isn't wireless, you still need your phone close to a power source  ok so the actul technology is technically charging the phone wirelessly but... all I see initially is it's a couple of seconds faster to charge it than physically putting a cable in :')

Yes, to me "winless charging" means I can charge my phone while it is still in my pocket.

(Bit late replying to this but there you go)

For those who use the Calculator app - word of warning, don’t rely on it if you’re on iOS 11 :kink: you have to put in the calculation really slowly or you’ll get the wrong answer :’)

The only thing I dislike thus far, is that the old way of switching apps by force touching the left side of the screen has gone and I really got hella used to that

It’s back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So happy rn

What would you like to see from Apple in 2018?

The headphone jack.

Amen Oliver!

Their decision to remove it just to make space was one of the most ridiculous changes they’ve ever made to a device.

I’d like to see an option to have duel-sim which allows someone to make and receive calls from two different phone numbers from the same device. A farfetched wish perhaps, but would be most convenient for me to keep personal calls separate to business calls and only have to carry one phone on me.

I'm extremely late in updating my MacBook to High Sierra, but is anyone else having any wifi connectivity problems with it? It seems like every time I close my laptop and it goes to sleep it takes about 10-15 minutes to find a wifi connection, and in that time constantly drops in and out of being on and off.

I get messages indicating that the wifi is turned on but not connected (when it is) and another saying that it is connected but can't find an IP address (which I've never had an issue with before).

It's not the router as other devices are connecting to it perfectly fine, was just wondering if anyone else had this issue and how they overcame it as I'm finding minimal helpful stuff on the internet. :(

I've thankfully not had issues since switching. How old is your MBP? Older products seem to be getting it in the neck with the 2017 software releases.

I find iOS11 to be a big poor quality wise. It just seems to crawl to a halt, I'm assuming it's because my performance has been savaged because I'm on a release day iPhone 6s, so it's impacted by Apples choice to kill performance in favour of 'battery life' despite the battery life being a bag of shit at this point. (And because it was a release day phone it's already had a battery replacement to solve the unexpected shutdown issue)

I think I've had it around 2-2.5 years!

About the same as mine then! (Apple logo -> about this Mac - that will tell you what OS you're running, when your MacBook is from and other shit)

Hope you get it resolved

I spoke too soon. Just had to forcibly restart the iMac after relaunching finder that randomly died and getting the mouse on a completely black screen that you couldn't do anything with. Super confusing. It's transition to High Sierra appears not to have been as joyous as the MBP :(

iOS 12 has been out a few days now, nothing that notably different or useful this time around.

Also has anyone seen the latest Apple Watch and iPhones announced this month? What are your thoughts?

The watch being able to run an ekg seems like a real game changer. Looking forward to seeing how that works and what the reviews are when the feature is actually released
Oh there’s me thinking it was going to be a significant update seeing as I’m downloading it now for my iPad and it’s taking forever

I reaaaallly want the iPhone Xs Max in Gold

Not sure whether to go for that, or wait until the XR comes out in October and see what that’s like.

Is OS Mojave worth upgrading too? I had some issues when going to High Sierra including having to do a clean re-install of my entire iMac.
