On opening Spotify via my desktop.

Thank you very much. I've made a post on Spice circle mentioning how well Wannabe has done as well as the Top 5, is it okay that I added the FYL total too?

Yeah, sure.

50m streams separated Worth It and Wannabe in January 2021. Now the gap is 19m and is closing fast. Fingers crossed it becomes the 2nd most-streamed girl group song on Spotify!

What is the first?

Fifth Harmony...Work From Home 1.1 billion

 was not expecting that, I was thinking something like No Scrubs by TLC or Independent woman by Destiny's Child

I think Worth It was one of the first huge streaming "hits". I guess Wannabe might eventually overtake it but it'll take years.

Happy with 100k plays for Feed your love 1st day and Wannabe doing over half a million.

Streaming is something that takes time and effort to build, they are going in the right direction though.

I think sometimes it's easy to forget just how massive Wannabe is streaming wise. To be closing in on being the 2nd most streamed song on Spotify by a girl group is insane.

It's the most played 90s song by a female artist last year too.

It's a 25 year old song competing and beating pretty much anything released by a girl group currently on the current modern way of consuming music.

Exactly -- any song that's ACTUALLY good

all of this

Still #1 on iTunes Worldwide Chart and in our hearts. Hope Olivia Rodríguez fans don’t find that out or they’ll start downloading her album again to get her to the top spot. It’s incredible how a band with only 2 big records (sorry Forever, I love you) are still so successful. I was reading the comments around the web and people remember who is who. No other girlband / boyband will ever have the same iconic status. Can’t wait to get the vinyl.

Spotify listeners up by nearly 53k today. 8.96 million so far.

They're so close to reaching 9 million which will be the first time for them on Spotify.

They usually rank 6th for girl groups in terms of their monthly listeners

1-2 usually fluctuates between BlackPink and LM

3 Destiny's Child

4 Pussycat Dolls

5 Fifth Harmony

6 Spice Girls

Nice hopefully over 9m in the next couple of days. The This is play list has gained nearly 7k more likes in the last 3 days too.

Sorry but out of those, Pussycat Dolls being above is a CRIME! Hope this new partnership makes for a fast growing audience in the platform throughout the year too!!

I know but ultimately the majority of artists on streaming tend to be American. LM are currently active, so for the SG to have a such a small catalogue and considering they debuted 25 years it's not too bad all things considered.

However, it could be higher

Pussycat dolls are active too they released a song last year and though their tour keeps getting pushed back because of the pandemic it's on sale and they seem to be full steam ahead with an album last I heard.

Don't Pussycat Dolls only have a very small catalogue too?

I like that things aren't just falling away, the EP is still #8 on iTunes, the GH is up to #39 on iTunes. Spice is up to #180 on Apple music the highest it's been yet.
