November 4, 20177 yr If it were Greg they’d have plugged Adele and Kelly Clarkson. Still, what if it’s Grace again tomorrow? The sing off will be even more redundant. Edit: to clarify, redundant as in we’ve already seen a Grace Rak-Su showdown, do we need to see it again? Edited November 4, 20177 yr by SGrey
November 4, 20177 yr Poor Leon :( Shows life is mainly.luck If he had been on a few years ago, VERY likely he would hve been in 1D over Niell or Nial
November 5, 20177 yr Jack & Joel - Havana I will never be a fan of them. But I actually didn't hate this. The lead singer genuinely creeps me out though. :/ 05.5 out of 10 --- Leon Mallett - Get Lucky L.M.F.A.O. I saw a tweet about "being thrown under the bus and this is the biggest bus they've ever seen" or something... at the time I had no idea which performance they were referring to... but I think I can guess which performance. Atrocious. 01.0 out of 10 --- Sean & Conor Price - Cheap Thrills They're so... BASIC. They don't even sound that good.. bleh. 04.0 --- Lloyd Macey - Hero His voice is fantastic! I'd say he is technically the best singer in the competition this year, by far. However, a popstar he is not. But, I really think he could be a success if they target him at mothers day/the oaps if they go down the Joe McElderry classical pop sort of sound with him. I really liked this performance. 08.0 out of 10 --- The Cutkelvins - Reggatón Lento Really, incredibly disappointed :( by the first chorus she sounded out of breath and her voice... oh no! FFS. :( The first time I thought they could be in trouble! 03.5 out of 10 --- Rak-Su - Dimelo Again, another catchy, sure fire hit song. However, this is the 2nd time I'm seeing them and they're already starting to be a bit 1-Dimensional/predictable and all a bit "bored now, can you try something else?" to me. But the song was better than last weeks. 07.5 out of 10 --- Sam Black - Twist & Shout If Louis Walsh was a performance... this is exactly what I'd envision it as lmao. The worst thing to do is try to take a novelty song and be serious with it... but this was more embarrassing than fun, however, Sam deserves better. 03.0 out of 10 === So my rankings tonight are: 01. Lloyd Macey 02. Rak-Su 03. Jack & Joel 04. Sean & Conor Price 05. The Cutkelvins    06. Sam Black 07. Leon Mallett
November 5, 20177 yr I can't get over Cutkelvins performance :( I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in an act as I have tonight. Hopefully, it's just in my head and that tomorrow when I listen again it might not be as bad as I remember it being... :(
November 5, 20177 yr No, I just came in drunk and decided to play a few performances, particularly The Cutkelvins as they're my favourites but she was AWFUL tonight, just shouted out of tune the entire thing. Disappointed :(
November 5, 20177 yr Author Lloyd was the only one who was really any good last night, and then hes not really my thing so I never LOVE his performances he's just always a reliable and very competent vocalist, that was possibly the worst live show of XF I have seen in a while, if not ever (2012 ha some shockers though once Ella was gone and even DURING her run when she was basically the only good one). Rak-Su were alright but I felt like the song was just a poundland Mamacita, I'm sure Grace (I think it was her?) said that they had their first couple of performances already lined up and planned out, if they knew Latin week was coming whydidn't they just sing Mamacita this week? I'm getting bored of all their songs being the same, generic "ladz ladz ladz" fare, why does Grace ge slated online for it yet Rak-Su get a free pass. As winners or artists in general I feel they'd be like Fleur East and have one hit that's everywhere then nobody would care anymore  quote name='Jonjo' post='5862091' date='Nov 5 2017, 01:24 AM']I can't get over Cutkelvins performance :( I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in an act as I have tonight. Hopefully, it's just in my head and that tomorrow when I listen again it might not be as bad as I remember it being... :( Nah I'm finding it WORSE today watching it back  I hought it felt a bit off even on the Apple Music recording as the songs are put on a bit early and I had a listen, but it just didn't work. Everyone is allowed an off week of course but it was the song I pegged for them and felt like a perfect match, yet it really floundered. I'm going off them a bit in general, as hypocritical as it is of someone who was in Pussycat Dolls to say, it doesn't always feel like a group. It feels like Sheeren ft. random tagged on rent-a-rapper, I think perhaps she'd have been better off solo, but there's no way she'd have made the lives and obviously the groups are always lacking  I do still like them, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were the "shock" exit in a week or two :/
November 5, 20177 yr Nobody is exaggerating when they say that was one of the worst live shows ever. It was appalling. The CutKelvins were abysmal - her vocals were shrill and out of tune. Leon was obviously just crap. Rak-Su were same old, same old. Sam was.....there. I mean, I've no words for him. And I've never understood why Sean and Connor even made it to lives. So that leaves Jack and Joel, who surprisingly were not actually awful. The lead singer actually has a very good voice, he's just extremely creepy. And Lloyd. So, he'll never be everyone's cup of tea but he was the best by an absolute mile. I HATE that song but I didn't mind his version. His vocal was exceptional, particularly in the 2nd half. He really took it there. Hopefully next week it's girls and groups on the same night so we can have a winner's sing off that isn't Grace v Rak-Su.
November 5, 20177 yr Author Yeah the prize fight is just so anti climactic when it's blatantly going to be Grace and Rak-Su every week, unless they get put on the same show but I feel like they're gonna avoid that as long as possible. I suppose at least this prize is to do with their career I do't mind when they're actually singing for their career but when it was "who gets a trip to New York to see Pink", who cares? I feel like Rak-Su might get this one but obviously it depends how Grace performs later. At least she's pushing herself a bit more and doing a cover as well as it being uptempo. I can't imagine Rak-Su covering a ballad, because they know they couldn't sing it lmao
November 5, 20177 yr Agreed Liam. That's one of the things that really irks me with them in particular - the amount of pre-recorded vocals on their tracks is ridiculous. They sing practically none of the chorus (and when they're miming along it's glaringly obvious). I know the solo singers have backing vocals etc, but it feels so cheaty when vocal groups with multiple members don't even sing their harmonies live. I am not here for that nonsense. November 5, 20177 yr That was good but I was hoping/thinking it was going to be better than that! Grace: 7.5/10
November 5, 20177 yr Pretty good, I like the song which helps but it does go to show take her away from her own material & she is distinctly average (which is the case for pretty much all of the contestants tbf).
November 5, 20177 yr Oops wrong thread!! Loved that - really suited her even if the track is clutching at straws.
November 5, 20177 yr Grace - Nothing spectacular, but I prefer to see her singing a good pop song like that than her original songs. Grace - 6.0
November 5, 20177 yr It was alright, nothing special, it did feel out of her comfort zone though, 4/10
