That's interesting - it's sad to see no 'Free Me' era stuff there. It's really a thorn in my side that that era is such a problem in terms of this sort of thing. And again, no Out of Your Mind, which seems like the most obvious Victoria song to include, yet it doesn't seem to have presence on any major playlists.

Songs included per girl, by era:

Emma Bunton

A Girl Like Me

1999: What I Am

2001: What Took You So Long?

2001: Take My Breath Away

My Happy Place

2019: Baby Please Don't Stop

2019: Don't Call Me Baby [Album Track]

2019: Come Away with Me [Album Track]

Geri Halliwell

Schizophonic

1999: Look at Me

1999: Mi Chico Latino

1999: Lift Me Up

1999: Bag It Up

2000: These Boots Are Made for Walkin' [b Side]

Scream If You Wanna Go Faster

2001: It's Raining Men

2001: Scream If You Wanna Go Faster

2001: Calling

Passion

2004: Ride It

Mel B

Hot

1998: I Want You Back

2000: Tell Me

2000: Feels So Good [Album Version]

2000: Lullaby

2001: Feels So Good [Radio Edit] - lol at this song being included twice

Other

1999: Word Up [soundtrack Version]

2013: For Once in My Life

Melanie C

Northern Star

1999: Northern Star

1999: Never Be the Same Again

1999: I Turn to You [Album Version]

Beautiful Intentions

2005: First Day of My Life

Version of Me

2016: Dear Life

Melanie C

2020: Who I Am

2020: Blame It on Me [Acoustic]

2020: Into You

2020: Good Enough [Album Track]

Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham

2001: Not Such an Innocent Girl

2001: A Mind of Its Own

2001: Midnight Fantasy [Album Track]

2001: I Wish [Album Track]

2001: Unconditional Love [Album Track]

All I can say is poor Bunton <_< Actually another thing I can say is that the selection for Melanie C is kind of random between her first and eighth albums. Out of all that 2003-2016 material they chose Dear Life? I like it but gosh!

9. Think about it

10. I know him so well (Melanie C & Emma Bunton)

11. Loving you (with Matt Cardle)

12. Anymore

13. Who I am

14. Blame it on me

15. Into you

16. Look at me

17. Mi chico latino

18. Lift me up

19. Bag it up

Lol Biff talking about Voodoo on his live stream: "Voodoo's Voodoo... can't get it right every time"

He also dispelled the claim that he chose to stay loyal to Spice Girls in 1998 and Absolute went with Geri, he said "it wasn't like that" (he criticised biographers that made this claim). That's interesting!

I LOVED what Biff said about Spice Up Your Life. Apparently it was written in 1h and sang in the same day, then sent straight away to the label and aproved as the first single on that very same day.

Then that took the pressure off and they just had a blast creating the album from then.

Iconic! :w00t:

He also mentions that Feed Your Love was the SECOND song written. Wannabe was teh first. Strange cos he mentioned FYL before as the very first one.

I stand corrected :o He confirms the four tracks on the Wannabe 25 EP have all been mastered for this release. It wasnt reworked though.

HE LOVES FOREVER :w00t: King  He is right when he says that it was a brave move for the girls and that they needed to bring something new to the table.

There are other demos - more from Spiceworld than Spice - but dont expect too many cos they didnt do too many demos back then with him. He was just talking about his work though, the other teams probably have a fair few too that we dont know about.

Go Go Go is uptempo, pop fun, energetic. Treasure is midtempo/kind of a ballad. He really likes them, as well as Likely Stories/C U Next Tuesday too.

They used to sing We're Gonna Make It Happen to him all the time

To his knowlege, he doesnt think they are talking about new music. But he had some lovely ideas, you could tell that he was excited at the prospect.

He also defended Headlines, specially live. He knows we all hate it lol and wishes that maybe he should have made it more rocky like the live version. He apologised for Voodoo 'You cant always get it right'

Also, Biff says they are with a new management team, no longer Simon?!...

Did we know about this? He says of the new manager 'she doing a brilliant job+ or something like that :o

NANCY IS BACK! :P

Apparently Bluebell took over management duties.

They haven't been with Simon for a while, he was only a silent background partner in 2019. I think they always keep ties with him but the actual day to day management Modest did last time and whoever they have this.

I don't think Headlines is as bad as people make out - it fits well into the Greatest Hits and serves it's purpose there. Of course, as a big comeback single it sort of sucks.

A song like that should never start with a verse like “the time is now or never”. People thought it was sarcastic, they never wanted to listen to it again. And the Disney intro. Makes me want to love Oxygen instead (and that one is one of their worst songs - still not as bad as Viva Life and Golden Shower).

1) How is the first lyric sarcastic?

2) I think Oxygen has some pretty moments. But what in heaven's name is Golden Shower!? (Outside of porn...I'm seriously asking)

I actually really like the beginning of Headlines. The bit where the intro starts and then leads on to Emma singing quite poingnant lyrics for 2007 like 'The time is now or never, to fit the missing piece, to take this on together, you make me feel complete' felt like a real coming home for a Spice balad.

But then after that verse the song just falls flat, in my honest opinion. It never quite recovers, though it has good moments like the two Mels on 'I feel love, I feel, I feel love'. And Mel B should have gotten a bigger role. Her harmonies are stellar and she SHINES on them but she could have easily had a bit more presence in the song. And Victoria in the lead didn't quite work, for me.

Also, I really like Oxygen. Ive been listening to the vinyl again recently and Forever's SIDE B actually really comes alive in that quality. Oxygen, If You Wanna Have Some Fun and Goodbye on vinyl are to die for. You even forget the bloody water drop

Cosmic shower ?!?!?

Yeah, that one 😂

I really don’t like Headlines. It has Geri written on it, probably the other girls just added some bits. Mel C lyrics are so Mel C when she’s been lazy, Victoria’s are elegant and poetic.. I wish we had more Mel B, I’ve been loving her voice more and more.

Hoping we’re going to hear Spice is Back and Angels ASAP

I'm glad someone asked about this. I've always wondered about it myself. I believe he's telling the truth...and perhaps nothing was ever officially said. But I feel there must have been some unspoken lines drawn in 1998, though. The group...along with Mel B, Mel C, Emma, and Victoria as solo artists...all worked with Biff. None ever released any material with Absolute (I use the word "released"...because I *believe* Emma did record one unreleased track with them during the Life in Mono era). Then, a substantial part of Geri's career is produced with Absolute...and she never worked with Biff as a solo artist. There's got to be *something* to that.

Also interesting to hear Biff's favorite Forever song is Let Love Lead the Way...and he was really impressed by it when hearing it for the first time. I've always felt the girls like that one better than the fanbase generally does. Interesting to know Biff's on the same page with them.

Yeah, I don’t buy that. There was probably an agreement. Also, Geri was clear back then and she did everything to distance herself (minus the music, Spice Girls 2.0) - there’s no single interview where she praises or disses any of the other solo efforts. She had more power than the girls themselves (or that’s what she believed), so it makes sense the two parts decided to have exclusive collaborators and cowriters. I mean, it’s more than 20 years ago, we all moved on.. and Geri now wears only white.

Didn't Emma believe it was only an album track until the last tour?
