Lovely to see the tributes from the other four. As for Melanie C I guess it’s up to her. I suppose posting on social media doesn’t mean you don’t care it’s not the only way people do things but people expect there to be a social media post for everything now.

I totally missed the 5th anniversary of this Spice Girls forum being brought back on BuzzJack! It happened on 6th September 2017. So that means it’s been 5 years since DenDen was deleted and also 5 years since Spice Circle on Facebook was created.

Clearly the majority of DenDen members went the way of the Facebook group lol, but I’m always happy that quite a few of us came here as well. I’ll always prefer the forum format to (what I consider to be) the disorganised chaos of a Facebook group. Thanks everyone for making this forum a great place to read for all these years!

It does feel a bit weird that it’s been that long since DenDen was removed. I will always think it was wild and kind of selfish that it was deleted without the opportunity for somebody to take it over. I know it had a reputation, but aside from that, it really did serve as an excellent archive for all things Spice Girls… and it was just wiped without a care! Sigh. I mean I am mostly over it, but if I do think about it from time to time, that was such a waste. It’s funny to think I posted there for almost 15 years and all those contributions are gone. I would say that makes it feel like a waste of time, but I suppose what counts is that during those years it was an entertaining and useful place to be for Spice Girls discussion. And for me that place is now here!

Massive thanks to Jay for bring us here!

I really like this place.

I miss BoardAloud forums too

Oh BoardAloud  Almost 10 years since that ended! It was wonderful while it lasted.

Hundred’s of thousands of celebs havent posted anything about the queen. Yet the only person being talked about is Melanie C! !!

This is a Spice Girls forum, not a 'every celebrity out there' forum though :arrr:

Let's not pretend Mel C is more principled than the rest when she has a history or throwing her morals on the fire when it suits her.

Is on the Justice Collective single, does exclusive interviews with The Sun.

Is an LGBT friend until she pulls out of a pride gig ill, is pictured the next day on holiday and never gave her advance back.

Performs for royalty, will kiss any royals ass at any event, celebrates Mel B's MBE. So not posting about The Queens death doesn't suddenly make her progressive.

Melanie C cares about herself and her career just like the rest of them.

Sammy, my dear, I’m sorry but that sounds a bit biased.

Though I agree it’s not always easy to be a perfectly principled person when you’re a famous person. I’m glad she celebrated Mel B and I’ll be there (see what I did here) if that happens with Emma. It’s called friendship.

That being said, at least we know where she stands:

“In July she watched the Women’s Euro final at Wembley with Horner, who received flak for having her photograph taken with Liz Truss and Nadine Dorries. “I hid behind a plant pot,” Chisholm says, laughing. “We were in the hospitality tent and I spotted them walking towards us, and I just went like that [she leaps up and throws herself behind the sofa].”

Interesting on the page back we discussed Mel C not putting out a social media post about the Queens death but thought meeting her a big enough thing to include a picture of it in her book.

Give it a rest already.

I for one think it is an interesting point.

I always thought Melanie C as quietly a bit of an anti-royalist and from the pictures in the book, plus the stories she told about meeting the Princes I was clearly wrong. She seems to genuinely like Charles for instance.

She probably isn't a royalist but is proud of her and her groups' achievements which involve meeting the royals, so it makes sense to me.

I also dont think it is that deep. The others are simps for the royals (honestly too much imo) whilst Mel isn't and good for her.

I think the lack of post might be more Mel C recognising people have feelings both ways on the royal family and thus not wanting to look to 'take sides' rather than her own personal feelings towards the Queen and royals.

Twitter especially right now is awful where the pro and anti royal are clutching at every straw to prove their point.

I think that sounds very likely tbh.

People are reading a bit too much into it - I imagine that she's quite ambivalent about the Monarchy as a whole, but by all accounts HRH Queen Elizabeth II is a legend and someone who literally tied two centuries of history together; I think anyone would be a taken back. But even if she was wildly anti-Monarchy, she wouldn't need to hate Charles *the person* who I am sure can be very pleasant when he's not fantasising about being Camilla's tampoon.

any chance they are saving a huge chunk of these songs for a rarities release next year to finish it off? idk what other reason to save unreleased songs they actually put in writing that exist.

They think their unreleased material is largely rubbish, so they don't want it released unfortunately.

The only reason is that they dont want to <_<

All of the music videos on YouTube now has (Official Music Video) after the title of each song.

Amazing. :cheer:

I know that doesn’t sound very exciting :D I’m just hoping that by renaming/adjusting some of the titles/wording/text means that we might get some YouTube content.

That's fair! I wouldn't be surprised if they release official footage for some of the Live tracks on SW25 like Too Much Live from Toronto, for example.
