I totally agree

Surprisingly, Mel C has come out with a suggestion of a way that the Spice Girls could come back with new music, without being directly asked about it :cheer: :o

I really like the idea, actually. And I think they would excel at it!

From Billboard Magazine

It’s interesting that you mention Bond themes, because when I was listening to the new album, I thought “Nowhere to Run” had a subtle Bond vibe to it.

I actually think Bond would be a great way to bring the Spice Girls out of retirement to record something new. It's an opportunity we've never had, and I think it would be pretty good.

Also some other nice tidbits from this really surprisingly nice interview:

She shows love for LLLW and Forever  :

The Song That Best Showcases Me As a Vocalist:

“Let Love Lead the Way,” which is on Forever, the third Spice Girls album. Going back to the Spice Girls songs last year [on tour], whoo, that was hard -- my voice was high when I was younger! I was like, “Why do I sing all the hard bits! What’s going on!” My voice has changed a lot over the years and become richer with the lower end of my range, but I think people know me for the screechy ad-libs. [Laughs.] On Forever, we worked with Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, and his vocal arranger at the time, LaShawn Daniels [who passed away in 2019], really pushed us all in the vocal booth. That was super challenging, but I loved singing that

I LOVE THIS NEW MEL :cheer:

Give me that dark, moody Bond song. Something in the same vein as Take Me Home.

Well I’m glad she’s up for recording a new song! Although I hope a different opportunity presents itself that makes them all feel like it’s worthwhile... because I don’t think Bond would ever happen for them. :( Even if it did it, it would be years away. :drama:

Always nice to see any of the girls reference the Forever album.

By the way, here’s the clip of Melanie dismissing the Wannabe video recreation idea:

I actually could see it working well, if they bring a more modern sound to their usual musical outputs!

Without Victoria (no shade intended), they now have the range as a group to really bring it in the studio for a song like a Bond song. Yes it would take ages, but I could see it working really well. Emma and Mel C both dabbled with this type of sound and did it incredibly well. In fact, both times they did that, it got the best reviews of their career.

Get Mel C and Emma to go into a studio to write and then get G&MB later on (please do not let Gerita anywhere near the writing process... we all know how she will insert some *puns* about breastfeeding or apples being cut down the middle in there which NO THANK YOU!)))

Do it Queens!

SCREAMING!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂 “I gave you the dinner, you took me to finger”

Geri's writing on Man on the Mountain was pretty much of her old high standard in my opinion.

I'm intrigued by new material in any capacity.

I find it interesting (and strange) that Melanie decided not to add INTO YOU to the album.

It is a very good song that would fit the album perfectly. Now, stranger than that... this song is not streaming anywhere. What a waste....

From 3:22, Melanie mentions she will see the girls soon :w00t: and that she will hurry them along to get their act together and do something together again 'that has to happen again!'.

She strongly implies the tour would reach America too!

So glad she's become a full Spice Girl again :cheer:

Sleigh Ride is included on quite a few new streaming compilation albums from UMG:

Christmas Hits Covers - track 14 of 21

Christmas Music 2020 - track 5 of 24

Christmas Party - track 48 of 51

Christmas 2020 Songs - track 12 of 26

Christmas in July! - track 28 of 28

Musica di Natale - track 6 of 31

Aperitivo a Natale - track 11 of 41

Julfavoriter 2020 - track 34 of 76

Julmusik 2020 - track 67 of 73

Christmas Wrapping is on one album:

Noel 2020 - track 29 of 29

Hopefully these albums will be promoted quite well on streaming and increases Sleigh Ride's stream count! It would be nice if Sleigh Ride found its way onto some Christmas playlists.

We should all 'like' those playlist on Spotify because the more likes the more Spotify will promote them.

Would be good to see Sleigh Ride get some decent streams

Both the Christmas songs are quite meh tbh... Would be better if they included 2 Become 1/Too Much/Goodbye instead B-)

But they are not Christmassy even I don't play them on my Christmas playlist...

I've always wondered why the girls never recorded a proper Christmas single? I mean talk about missed opportunity, they were constantly hitting the Christmas #1 spot and these songs get played EVERY year look at AIWFC and Merry Xmas everybody etc... 1999 would have been the perfect opportunity to release a one off Spicy Christmas track... would have done many things:

1) Given them a year on year hit had it been a big #1 which I'm sure in 1999 it would have been

2) Given them the record for most consecutive Christmas #1s

3) Allowed them to keep their record as most consecutive #1s from lead single if it had blocked Westlife's I have a dream

4) Had they released Holler /LLLTW the following year made them one of the very few to get 10+ UK #1s.

I've never understood why they don't just added some sleigh bells to 2 become 1 and call it the Christmas mix. It is sort of seen as a Christmas song and that would just about do it to be seen as a full blown xmas song. I could see its streaming numbers going mad over xmas if they did and spice fans all downloading it off itunes.

Sleigh bells wouldn't do it at all lol, the lyrics are about sex that is not Christmassy. To be a Christmas song for me it has to have some reference to Christmas or have some Jesus reference to it aka Mary's Boy Child, Away in a Manger, Millennium Prayer etc

For example Stay another day for me is NOT a Christmas song, it's just a song that was #1 at Christmas.

Yeah but that is your definition, Stay another day always gets playlist ingredients on Xmas playlist and is top 200 on Spotify over xmas. It wrecks up big streams over xmas thanks to that. No reason 2 become 1 couldn't do the same.
