Nice to see New Rules so high! (in fact I feel like I'm the only person who's not got it in their EOY :P) Really glad 2017 was such a good year for her!

2. The Weeknd feat. Daft Punk "I Feel It Coming"

Wait a minute, "I Feel It Coming" was supposed to be my EOY #1 ever since it was my personal chart #1 in January. I loved it so much that I didn’t even question loving another song more, until I did my final listen-through and rankings for this thread. Well, it could be because it was already in my 2016 EOY so the love was split between two years. Even so, it is still effortlessly soothing and by far my favorite Weeknd song—and Daft Punk song, for that matter. And I’m so glad we eventually got a video!

1. Lorde "Green Light"

She’s done it!! Truly, I couldn’t have believed that one of my most anticipated releases would ever go above and beyond my expectations the way "Green Light" did for Lorde. She easily could have been a one-album wonder, which would’ve been frustrating since she’s so young and has the potential for a long, incredible career. A 3½-year wait isn’t always promising either, but she really delivered with this one. And now it feels right to give #1 to one of my favorite artists, with the song that never failed to excite me whenever I heard it...

Eep this was a great read, apologies for missing it and not commenting as it went along! Nice mix of genres here and a few artists that have yet to come on mine including Little Big Town, Katy, and Dua. And on that note, absolutely everything you say about Be The One was exactly my impression too, I was really underwhelmed with her before that re-release!

Also, that Maren Morris is a great discovery, added to my to listen list now :D

This was a great read and that is a mainly fantastic top 10! I placed I Feel It Coming below Starboy in my 2016 EOY but it's definitely reversed now, the former is amazing, Daft Punk's influence is a lot clearer which is definitely a great thing, but it's the most slick he's sounded as well. Both Dua songs were big tunes (I always loved Be The One, but I wasn't a fan of anything else rlly until New Rules so that re-release did certainly reignite my interest at the right time as you say) and Green Light, as instant as it was for so many here, actually took me a long time to get into, but I do really enjoy it now, as I do Perfect Places, should probably listen to Melodrama at some point.

Green Light was a very strong release from Lorde, I don't remember you loving it as much as you did but that's probably my memory  A very worthy #1!
