I like Donna but I'm not sure why anyone's bothered really. I can't ever remember her having a decent storyline tbh

Apart from her thing with Robbie has she ever had a storyline? All I’ve ever seen her do is make snide remarks! No big loss for me!

Finding Les in her flat in just his underwear though

I can see where you're coming from though. She literally only had that (not) relationship thing with Fatboy and tried to have Vincent's baby. I think the issue here is that Donna is such a likeable character that has been incredibly underused with a lot of potential completely wasted. Hard to believe she's been in the show for nearly 4 years!

Donna isn't a bad character, but she's not exactly someone i'm sad about seeing go. She's not even done anything in the four years she's been there?!

I don't think the writers knew what to do with her, then she got landed in the Ben / Jay / Abi groups and it was downhill from there considering she's what 10-12 years older than them all. She's an awkward age on Eastenders for someone without a big family around them. As none of the 30-somethings particuarly like each other.. Sonia, Stacey - I can't even think of anyone else?

I just find it hard to believe that Ted is really this incompetent
I don't think they've ever really known what to do with

Donna

so I can't say I'm particularly gutted oop

Bit gutted myself, I think I saw that coming with

Vincent

bowing out soon.

Max will be back on April 24th, his first appearance since Abi's funeral. Jake Wood had taken a short break hence the character's absence.

Urgh

So sexist he got to stay

He tried to destroy the square and killed his daughter, but I bet no one will even go quiet when he walks in the Vic!

Kill him off NOW

it’s BIZARRE that max would want to live on a square where he’s had two of his children fall to their death, is detested by everyone and has no family?

tbh he’s sort of a burnt out character now, there’s only so much you can push and EXPLODE a character before you lose interest / would rather see them killed off

Max will be ok if they really do push him in a new direction. But I expect he’ll fall into old habits within 6 months.

I’m more intrigued as to what happens with Abi II in the future. An orphan at birth.

If the producers didn't fancy him so much, he never would uqve got off with Stacey and would have died on that roof - far better han the hamfisted storylines we got
I wish Phil would just f*** off. What a shit character

Really? Phil’s an icon of Eastenders! It will be a sad day when Steve McFadden decides to call it an end. He is one of the programmes best actors and always gives 110% to his parts. I agree his storylines aren’t what they used to be and the fact he always ends up winning in any of the fueds is very unrealistic considering his condition but I’d rather watch Phil than the Carter’s!

Whilst Steve is a good actor, Phil never develops as a character. For every 'sympathetic' storyline, whether it be his alcoholism or liver transplant or being able to be a father to Ben and Louise again, he always refers back to type - a bullying, sexist thug. Remember when he returned last summer and we were meant to cheer as he wrestled Lisa out the hospital and threw her to the ground because it was a sign that KING PHIL was back? We don't know anything about his relationships with the kids in his life and he certainly doesn't have a relationship with Sharon, the supposed love of his life who he treats disgustingly.

I used to like Phil but recently I've started to realise there's no point rooting for a character we know practically nothing about and is never going to change.

I do think there would be a backlash if Phil was ever to be axed, but Steve seems relaxed in the role, especially when he's allowed so much time off for panto.

I was totes rooting for Lisa. Who should return. But that’s another matter.

It would be nice to see a scene of Phil and Louise actually bonding. I don’t believe one exists.

Phil gets on my tits as well, he is probs the best actor they have when he's got something good to do, but i cba when it's always tough man Phil Mitchell, who everyone is scared of, yet the most he's done in ages is threaten a 15 year old.

I also can't be arsed with Max really, again good actor but I can't really see where they're going to go other than a Phil-esque direction where his mental health crops up now and again and he goes off on one like Phil's anger/alcoholism always crops up  Like he won't really get it sorted so it's just superficially fine and he lashes out now and again to give him something to do.
