People moaning about Ed being desperate to be #1 would be lapping it up if it was their fave artist. I mean this is the forum who beg for their faves to promote on Loose Women etc, Ed has put out two remixes with 2 superstars of their own genre. I know which is more desperate.

Honestly, I wouldn't. I'd feel the same if it was Adele doing this!

I'd rather a song got to #1 on merit of the popularity of one version predominantly (i.e. the single version) rather than an additional two major duet versions giving it the (much needed) boost to be able to do it. Rockabye managed #1 "naturally" last year without the need of alternative versions to give it a leg up!

Ed's being very cynical and manipulating in order to achieve this Xmas #1. I mean, fair enough that he's exploited the chart rules to the extent that this is all above board, but I feel like there isn't much sense of achievement in him scoring this Xmas #1 via giving his fans two new versions to buy/stream, while the actual original single version of the song isn't doing all that much by itself (and funnily enough will be the version that this success is attributed to). That's just my opinion.

Why is Andrea credited when Beyonce wasnt is what I want to know

He won't be credited, it's the same scenario. This'll still be "Ed Sheeran - Perfect" in the charts!

I hope Wham! can do it this week! Will download the song when I get home. Would love it to block Ed/Eminem(if he has a chance) and be a great tribute to George at the same time.

The campaign could get news coverage, or at least I hope it does!

If you fancy contributing to the campaign to get Last Christmas to Christmas #1 (assuming you're residing in the UK!), here are some links:

Wham! - Last Christmas

#2 (Single Version) iTunes

#29 (Single Version) iTunes

#115 (Pudding Mix) iTunes

#116 (Pudding Mix) iTunes

#351 (Remastered) iTunes

#388 iTunes

#584 (Pudding Mix) iTunes

#845 iTunes

#1221 iTunes

Hopefully both of the "Pudding Mix" downloads crack the Top 100 imminently!

Also on Amazon: #1 (Single Version), #8 (Pudding Mix), #17 (Single Version)

Honestly, I wouldn't. I'd feel the same if it was Adele doing this!

Don't forget that being at the top (or near the top) of most of the streaming services Christmas playlists gives Mariah an advantage as well.

I have more of an issue with the possibility of an old song, that is technically the most listened-to, being deemed the most "popular" song of the week by reaching #1 on the singles chart, than anything Ed is doing.

We should all just be thankful that the X Factor monopoly over the Christmas Number One is long gone - not to mention those dire charity covers - and typical pop songs are back on top.
Mariah DESERVES no.1. A shame it never got to no.1 in the first place, just like the second biggest modern Xmas song, Christmas Time, Bells End. It's aboot teem we had the Xmas chart no.1 reflect that it is Xmas week for the majority of people.

It's the biggest now, not just modern but the biggest Christmas song.

Mariah at #1 would be great and all but bittersweet at that considering the whole Last Christmas campaign. Sure, Mariah at the top would be an amazing feat that has been a long time in the making but if Last Christmas ends up at #2 - blocked by Mariah - it would be devastating.

I can honestly see Wham ending up at #2 again

Fingers crossed the media take hold of it more and it gets mentioned on prime time TV.

My gut feeling is that Mariah will be #3 in Christmas week, I don't think she's truly in contention any more. Ed Sheeran and his new version/Strictly promo is surely too strong to overcome, and then Wham! should have the edge over Mariah with their stronger downloads. Wham! aren't too far behind Mariah on streaming, so I guess with this campaign they could manage to overtake her there too? We shall see!

I'd agree that an Ed/Wham/Mariah top 3 in that order is most likely.

Eminem could break the top five too though it depends how big his streaming is. I doubt the charity/campaign singles (except Wham) will do anything, I can't see AC/DC fans rushing to stream the song so based on its current download sales it seems unlikely to make the top 40.

Wham! very close to #1:

1.0000 Ed Sheeran & Beyoncé

0.9812 Wham!

but Eminem/Ed Sheeran is hot on their heels with 0.9343.

In the next update, could Eminem/Ed leapfrog over Wham!, while Ed/Bey falls to #3? :drama:

Oh my, this may be closer than I thought.

If the Wham campaign gets media attention and/or celebrity promo (Ed to do a Justin Bieber and promote the competition seems unlikely though) it could very well make #1.

Even with the Strictly performance?

If the viewers have any hearing it shouldn’t help much :D
