Anne Marie's new song not even top 100 yet

Why did she release so soon after Heavy?

Is it 100% the next single?

 

Even if it is, I'm sure it can do something after Christmas.

The difference with Little Mix is that the versions with rappers (for No More Sad Songs & Power) were actually the single versions... the original album versions weren't pushed.

This is a good point as well, I don't think Ed is really comparable to that. Loads of artists do that like Little Mix, it's a clever move to shift a single people otherwise might not buy as they have the album. But when it's ALONGSIDE the original, multiple versions with different artists to target as many demographics as possible I think it is a bit much. If he just released the Beyonce version as the single and the original didn't really get pushed, I'd look at it differently but he is doing EVERYTHING.

 

I have nothing against Ed Sheeran, I would obviously prefer and not be AS annoyed if it was a fave but it's a bit much whoever does it. I get that he just wants a Christmas number 1 to cement his legacy while he's at his peak, but wouldn't everyone like a Christmas number 1? :lol:

well there's something to be said about all the Perfect remixes, but tbf if this is likely the only chance you'll get at the xmas #1 why not go all out and take it? (and seeing how much his tactics are pissing off Buzzjack i 100% support all of it)

Ed/Andrea - Perfect Symphony up to #4. I wonder if it can eventually overtake Ed/Bey?

The Ed/Beyoncé version provided the impetus to get him to #1, whereas the solo version didn't achieve that - not even with an X Factor performance. I assume if he'd not released these new versions, Perfect (solo) wouldn't be looking to be #1 this week and probably wouldn't have got there at all. "Firmly in the Top 5/10 with solo version" =/= "climbing to #1 and then vying for Christmas #1 thanks to new versions".

I think Ed would be firmly in contention for #1 just on sales and streams of the Beyonce version though. The combining of them all helps of course.

 

But what about my point that Mariah wouldn't be getting quite as many streams as she is, if she wasn't at the top of dozens of Christmas playlists right now?

Mariah is indeed top of some Christmas play lists (and there's actually a lot of high profile play lists where she isn't), but I imagine that the majority of people seeking out a Christmas play list would be aiming to listen to her song anyway, or at least happy to let it play. Of all the Christmas songs, it wouldn't surprise me if it's the top Christmas song to be actively searched for to specifically listen to it.

 

It's not as if Ed Sheeran isn't at the top/near the top of a lot of non-Christmas themed playlists, so it's a bit of a moot point? "Ed Sheeran wouldn't be getting quite as many streams as he is, if he wasn't at the top of a lot of playlists right now" = "Mariah wouldn't be getting quite as many streams as she is, if she wasn't at the top of dozens of Christmas playlists right now".

What would make people happy for the Xmas #1, moaning about Ed, the amount of Xmas songs in the Top40 today.
