January 5, 20188 yr It was very predictable though, and with held-back releases some growers like New Rules would have had lengthy T10 runs behind #1 debuts that constantly fell below it the week after - I just think OA/OS and slow climbs to #1 level the playing field and make it more interesting to predict who may be #1 any given week. Fully agree now only huge comebacks enter at the top like back in the day!
January 5, 20188 yr Yep agreed, been around for too long. Strike II for you on being a dance music backstabber :o We so rarely get top 10 dance hits such as "17" these days. "On My Mind" and "Places" failed for instance. Hell, we're lucky for them to even go top 40 anymore.
January 5, 20188 yr Mans Not Hot on the other hand I am not bored of, although the new remix isn't as good as the original imo. Strike II for you on being a dance music backstabber ohmy.gif Speaking of Strike the MK song is not as good as Strike at least they had some atmospheric funky background synths as well as piano house in 'U Sure Do'. ;) Edited January 5, 20188 yr by mdf

Eminem is the best-selling artist of the 2000s in the United States. Throughout his career, he has had 10 number-one albums on the Billboard 200 and five number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100. With US sales of 47.4 million albums and 42 million tracks as of June 2014, Eminem is the second best-selling male artist of the Nielsen SoundScan era, the sixth best-selling artist in the United States and the best-selling hip-hop artist. Globally, he has sold more than 172 million albums, making him one of the world's best-selling artists. Rolling Stone ranked him 83rd on its list of 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, calling him the King of Hip Hop. After his debut album Infinite (1996) and the Slim Shady EP (1997), Eminem signed with Dr. Dre's Aftermath Entertainment and subsequently achieved mainstream popularity in 1999 with The Slim Shady LP, which earned him his first Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. His next two releases, 2000's The Marshall Mathers LP and 2002's The Eminem Show, were worldwide successes, with each being certified diamond in U.S. sales, and both winning Best Rap Album Grammy Awards—making Eminem the first artist to win the award for three consecutive LPs. They were followed by Encore in 2004, another critical and commercial success. Eminem went on hiatus after touring in 2005, releasing Relapse in 2009 and Recovery in 2010. Both won Grammy Awards and Recovery was the best-selling album of 2010 worldwide, the second time he had the international best-selling album of the year (after The Eminem Show). Eminem's eighth album, 2013's The Marshall Mathers LP 2, won two Grammy Awards, including Best Rap Album; it expanded his record for the most wins in that category and his Grammy total to 15. In addition to his solo career, Eminem is an original member of the Midwest hip hop groups Soul Intent and D12. He is also known for his collaborations with fellow Detroit-based rapper Royce da 5'9"; the two are collectively known as Bad Meets Evil. Eminem has developed other ventures, including Shady Records, with manager Paul Rosenberg, which helped launch the careers of artists such as 50 Cent. Eminem has also established his own channel, Shade 45, on Sirius XM Radio. In November 2002, he starred in the hip hop film 8 Mile, which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song, for "Lose Yourself", becoming the first rap artist to win the award. Eminem has made cameo appearances in the films The Wash (2001), Funny People (2009), The Interview (2014) and the television series Entourage (2010). - Wikipedia Top 100 Chart History Eminem 1999 02 My Name Is -1- 1999 05 Guilty Conscience (Eminem feat. January 5, 20188 yr Next week's contender? Justin Timberlake Filthy Man Of The Woods | 2018 Information Released: 5th January 2018 Label: RCA Records Video gA-NDZb29I4 Biography Justin Randall Timberlake (born January 31, 1981) is an American singer-songwriter, actor and record producer. Born and raised in Tennessee, he appeared on the television shows Star Search and The All-New Mickey Mouse Club as a child. In the late 1990s, Timberlake rose to prominence as one of the two lead vocalists and youngest member of NSYNC, which eventually became one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. Timberlake began to adopt a more mature image as an artist with the release of his debut solo album, the R&B-focused Justified (2002), which yielded the successful singles "Cry Me a River" and "Rock Your Body", and earned his first two Grammy Awards. His critically acclaimed second album FutureSex/LoveSounds (2006), characterized by its diversity in music genres, debuted atop the U.S. Billboard 200 and produced the Hot 100 number-one singles "SexyBack", "My Love", and "What Goes Around... Comes Around". Established as a solo artist worldwide, his first two albums both exceeded sales of 10 million copies. He produced records and collaborated with other artists. From 2008 through 2012, Timberlake focused on his acting career, effectively putting his music career on hiatus; he held starring roles in the films The Social Network, Bad Teacher, In Time, and Friends with Benefits. Timberlake resumed his music career in 2013 with his third and fourth albums The 20/20 Experience and The 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2, exploring neo soul styles, partly inspired by the expansive song structures of 1960s and 1970s rock. The former became the best-selling album of the year in the US with the largest sales week, and spawned the top-three singles "Suit & Tie" and "Mirrors", while the latter produced the top-ten song "Not a Bad Thing". For his live performances, including the eponymous concert tour for the albums, he began performing with his band The Tennessee Kids, composed by instrumentalists and dancers. Timberlake voiced the lead character in DreamWorks Animation's Trolls (2016), which soundtrack includes his fifth Billboard Hot 100 chart-topping single, "Can't Stop the Feeling!" His fifth studio album Man of the Woods will be released in February 2018. Among numerous awards and accolades, Timberlake is the recipient of ten Grammy Awards, four Emmy Awards, three Brit Awards, and nine Billboard Music Awards. Time named him one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2007 and 2013. January 5, 20188 yr Perfect keeping the boring River off #1 *.* (expecting they'll swap around very soon though)
January 5, 20188 yr Looks like "River" is gonna be the next "Love The Way You Lie" for Eminem... You mean it not getting top #1 but spending a massive amount of weeks in the top 40? Perfect keeping the boring River off #1 *.* (expecting they'll swap around very soon though) I think Perfect is more boring than River, I also don't like Perfect as it seems to be a little bit influenced by the worst Eric Clapton single imo 'Wonderful Tonight'. Edited January 5, 20188 yr by mdf
January 5, 20188 yr You mean it not getting top #1 but spending a massive amount of weeks in the top 40? Held off of number 1 constantly. Though for LTWYL it was held off by a load of songs held off and bought in bulk on that week (same as "Moves Like Jagger" a summer later).
January 5, 20188 yr “Perfect” needs to go away It needs to go back to Hades from whence it no doubt came.
January 5, 20188 yr If Ed Sheeran really is going to be writing with Westlife for their new album you may very well be getting "Perfect Pt.2" later this year :/ Love "Filthy" by JT
