Personally, that's my way to play, nearly all of the good console games are on it and it's so much more flexible a system. But of course, whatever gaming platform you think is best is welcome here.

I'm only a recent starter though (thought I'd try with Castille as I've heard they are one of the best ones for beginners).

I'm probably more of an expert on 1444 history than any other period now. Camden sounds like he has good taste what with this and Civ. I started learning the game with Castile and/or Portugal too! Good place to start, it's quite a unique experience playing there, definitely one of the best ones for beginners although you might have a scary start what with the civil war.
