Newcastle v Arsenal ended 0-0, a dull, dull, dull game brought to life by a mass handbagging session. Really wish Song had stamped harder on Barton's leg. And Steven Taylor's face.

Looks like Sunderland fitness levels were a lot better than Liverpool's. Didn't see the game, but looking at the team sheet I think Dalglish got the team wrong. Some odd selections considering all things. I guess those players will all be the better for it now though.

Disappointing not to get 3 points, but all in all it's the first game of the season so not going to moan, and besides it could be worse - could be Arsenal :D

We were very strong in the first half. Suarez should have scored his penalty, Carroll had a goal disallowed and Downing had a brilliant run and shot at goal.. Would have been a contender for goal of the season imo if it'd gone in

The second half we were poor and in the end Sunderland probably did deserve the point

Kenny definately made a mistake in playing Henderson instead of Kuyt and Flanagan instead of Kelly. You could tell they were nervous and we needed a little more experience

Hoping for a better overall performance vs. Arsenal especially considering they'll be without Wilshere, Nasri, Fabregas, Gervinho and Song

Wigan and Norwich both looked very poor yesterday, and both the goals came from defensive mistakes. I reckon they'll both be relegated.

Stoke 0-0 Chelsea

What's the betting Man Utd come and win 5-0 now and Tom Cleverly solves world hunger...

1 goal. 4 more to go

Going to be an interesting season.

de Gea is absolutely useless. Going to be a huge liability.

Man Utd have no presence in central midfield.

Ben Foster is diabolical.

Sky Sports parading Ashley Young as the third coming of Jesus.

Just a shame every other team is still as shit!

De Gea is lucky he's at United where their more than capable of scoring to make up for his mistakes
Fucking Ashley Young, would have had a perfect 1-1 prediction if he hadn't scored :(

I had £10 @ 13/2 for a 1-1 full-time scorline! Jammy deflected goal. Just my luck.

Man U took a long time to find a proper replacement for Schmeichel. If today's blunder is anything to go by, they could be in for another long search.
Ashley Young is quality. I think he will do better than both Nani and Valencia, £16m or whatever it was is an absolute steal. I'd put money on him having the highest number of assists this season.

Really? I thought he was average today. I know everytime what he's going to do with the ball everytime he recieves it out wide. Complete one-trick pony. Better defences will find him out, and definitely not give him anywhere near as much space as he got today. He was Man Utd's best player today, but no-one really stood out from any team

I've not seen him today but he's always been excellent. An average of 13 PL assists in each of his four Villa seasons, and that's supplying to Heskey, Carew and Agbonlahor! I can only see him getting more in United's team. He doesn't have that much about his game, I agree, but him and Johnson are easily the two best English wingers.
Aguero looks rather good... Chelsea I think will be breathing down United's necks if Torres starts scoring.
Tonight's lineup shows how little Swansea have strengthened when Augustien (who?) played all 90 minutes and yet in the Championship couldn't get in their team and was farmed out on load to Crystal Palace.

Might change my prediction now, reckon Man City will win the league! Aguero looks mental. Going to get them so many crucial goals as long as he stays fit. If they get Nasri they're going to be unbelievable:

De Jong Toure

Nasri Aguero Silva

Dzeko

Then the likes of Ballotelli, Johnson, Milner on the bench.

Bloody hell!
