August 13, 20186 yr George has just announced this evening he is going on his first ever arena tour next March. Tickets on sale Friday at 9am:
August 17, 20186 yr The tour has completely sold out - they've just announced three new dates: - 20th March: London, O2 Arena - 22nd March: Sheffield Arena - 23rd March: Manchester Arena I think between this and Shotgun (potentially) going back to number one later today, he has crossed the threshold from popular to absolute phenomenon.

I wish they’d add another date for Cardiff. I think Hold My Girl will be massive across the autumn. His album could be a big seller for Christmas
August 21, 20186 yr he's releasing singles t such a slow rate, it's driving me crazy ;) can we move from Shotgun pliiiizzzzz
August 21, 20186 yr he's releasing singles t such a slow rate, it's driving me crazy ;) can we move from Shotgun pliiiizzzzz Why would he move on when he's just gone back to #1? Anything new at this point would probably get swallowed up by Shotgun, there's no point. I'd leave Hold My Girl until autumn and he can perform it on Strictly and/or X Factor.
August 21, 20186 yr i know i know I understand why the company is not moving on but us fans that got the song from day 1 are a bit tired of it
August 21, 20186 yr 8 months into the year, he’s released 2 songs. That used to be pretty standard and I don’t see what the problem is. There is a whole album out there to listen to if you’re fed up of Shotgun.
August 21, 20186 yr As much as I can see Hold My Girl being a huge hit I would also love for All My Love to be given single treatment  Quickly became one of my favourite album tracks
August 21, 20186 yr I personally think the charts and the speed at which singles are released is slower than ever, think it's cos of spotify and how slow it is take Camila, Never be the same released at the start of Jan, 2nd single just now
August 21, 20186 yr I personally think the charts and the speed at which singles are released is slower than ever, think it's cos of spotify and how slow it is take Camila, Never be the same released at the start of Jan, 2nd single just now Shotgun was #1 on sales last week too so it's not just Spotify, it's a hugely popular song right now and they'd be silly not to keep capitalising on it for as long as possible! Nobody expected him to come back with a bigger hit than Budapest, so Shotgun is a pretty remarkable success on every level. re. Camila, the reason she's taken so long is because of American radio. Never Be the Same took ages to impact there, and Havana peaked at #1 on the Hot 100 while Never Be the Same was peaking in the UK. Songs take ages to build on American radio, Spotify is actually quite fast by comparison.
August 21, 20186 yr but us fans that got the song from day 1 are a bit tired of it Well just listen to another song from the album then - that's the point of the album and the single to sell the album to hear more of the song. You don't have to exclusively listen to Shotgun just because its the single
August 21, 20186 yr The thing that sort of annoys me is the fact that Staying at Tamaras sales haven't been stellar since Shotgun, it's only been selling 15-20k at best and now is barely doing 10k and I know album sales as a whole are low!

It hasn't left the top 5 since its release and has only been kept off a return to the top spot by huge soundtrack albums and Drake, king of Spotify. I don't really see how it's not doing "stellar", it's VASTLY exceeded any expectations I had at the start of the era!! Not to mention how it's the summer where album sales are normally dreadful - not forgetting Blossoms' record low sales for an album #1 occurred during the summer - so for it to be doing 10k a week and not even be #1 is a good sign of the top end of the market.

Agreed puts it in good stead overall too as no doubt the next single will be pushed in Q4 which should see the album sell well in the Christmas market too. The whole campaign after Don't Matter Now has been really well done IMO
August 22, 20186 yr Not saying it's not charting well but my expectations for its sales were much higher! Edited August 22, 20186 yr by Steve201
August 24, 20186 yr The album's sales will fly up as we get into Autumn and I suspect it'll be Top 5 towards Christmas. It's been selling just fine over summer and I think it'll pass 1m before the year's out.
August 25, 20186 yr Another Top 10 single for him in Australia  So glad this has become a hit here
September 4, 20186 yr Still absolutely adore this album. The bops are still there but the run of "All My Love" to "Hold My Girl" is probably my favourite  I'd love the former to be a single but with the latter due to be pushed in October (video due around the 19th afaik), I don't think they'll go for two slow songs in a row. I definitely think the album has the legs to be pushed well into 2019 though, "Pretty Shining People" has to be a single at some point! Despite all of George's success this year, it definitely hasn't felt like overkill like with Ed last year which I think the public are aware of too. I think he's got Best British Male (amongst other noms) in the bag at the BRITs!
