But then a lot of pop has gone to more serious indie pop recently anyway in the mainstream, look at the success of Sigrid for example!

I don't think Sigrid's anywhere near indie pop, Strangers in particular is pure pop for sure.

Well maybe she isn't indie pop but Sigrid I would say is on the more serious side of pop like most Scandipop I think, whereas the likes of Friends by marshmello and Anne-Marie is on more the fun side of pop of which there hasn't been as much recently I don't think (which is why that song sounds quite refreshing to me).

I agree here, Sigrid's line of pop is a bit more "sophisticated", while Anne-Marie is closer to Little Mix's bubblegum pop style.

Yeh Sigrid reminds me of Ellie a bit
