October 24, 200619 yr I think McFly are safe to be honest. Clever marketing and lots of willing fans. they need to explain the downloads though and the mysterious expulsion of iTunes
October 24, 200619 yr I think that McFly's fans are so dedicated that a lot of them bought it in the first day whereas some Girls Aloud fans might be waiting until the weekend as they could be at work or something. Therefore. McFly could still be Number 2 on Sunday!
October 24, 200619 yr http://www.girlsaloud.co.uk/bb/ Maybe somebody might want to sign on to here, as I'm sure a few people who like the act who are going to be denied a number 1 on Sunday, might want to complain to the OCC. ;)

As will Dave I imagine!
October 25, 200619 yr McFly haven't broken any rules. There really are some bitter Girls Aloud fans in this thread, jeez
October 25, 200619 yr IMO if a song has sold close to 30k in one day then it deserves to be No.1...anyone else could employ that sort of marketing but they haven't...think back to year 2000...there were 42 No.1 singles and only about 10 of them deserved to be No.1...most of them were purely 1 week marketing exercises that plummeted afterwards...McFly are just an example of that... Sure better songs deserve No.1 but there is nothing huge out next week so GA and Fedde can battle it out again...they saw what the competition was like this week so one of them should have released last week if they'd wanted a No.1... Same goes to Meatloaf and MCR...on any other week they would fly to No.1 in the album chart but they release on the same week as Robbie...so in the end its all about who has the biggest fanbase and/or the best marketing team and in this case its McFly and Robbie...
October 25, 200619 yr going by the papers today robbie wont sell anymore than 200,000 by end of week, dont get me wrong that is good sales in general but very low for robbie

October 25, 200619 yr i have to say i'm no huge fan but his songs have been off for a while ever since the Trippin era I thought Radio was the downwards turning point...he seems to have become a parody of himself...I'm sure this album will sell a million with it being so close to xmas but had he released it in March or April it would go nowhere near a million...
October 25, 200619 yr stupid bloody mcfly no.1 which that sh**ty song, but if theyre getting the sales then i suppose its fair isnt it?. but girls aloud always rise towards the end of the week, i dont think they will manage to get no.1 but an increase in their sales. and so what if mcfly go no.1 this week, lets see the difference in the chart runs, then i will be pleased, i think this will be the longest chart run ga have had in ages. i think mcfly chart run- 1-5-13-26-39-out. haha i hope it does. sh*t song!!! :P
