Posted October 24, 20177 yr They are busy in the studio making music but Years & Years are back with new music and working on a new album. I can't really tell if this is a lead single considering this is from a fashion brand. https://twitter.com/yearsandyears/status/922886022731567104 Edited April 25, 20187 yr by SevenSeize
October 24, 20177 yr Funny - I was literally earlier thinking "where are Years & Years when you need them?" - surely then bring us something epicly pop and help move us out of this dire state we're in. (Also Indie, Rock & Alternative??)
October 25, 20177 yr what i do find worrisome is that they released Meteorite, a post-album song in a soundtrack, and that did nothing, peaked at #72 or something
October 25, 20177 yr (Also Indie, Rock & Alternative??) Yeah I think they are more pop, albeit indie pop, but then so are Coldplay now mostly and I think they are still in indie, rock, alternative here although I am not sure. Edited October 25, 20177 yr by HissingSparkler
October 25, 20177 yr Lol you meant electropop maybe Cos this is zero indiepop Lol where are the guitars? ;)
October 25, 20177 yr It doesn't have to have guitars to be indie. Indie is just when something is a but alternative really. But technically you can't call any act with a handful of platinum singles and album indie.
October 25, 20177 yr what i do find worrisome is that they released Meteorite, a post-album song in a soundtrack, and that did nothing, peaked at #72 or something Yeah, I do think that could be a sign. I can realistically see them experiencing a flop second era, but I'm really hoping they don't as I love them.
October 25, 20177 yr Yeah, I do think that could be a sign. I can realistically see them experiencing a flop second era, but I'm really hoping they don't as I love them. I third the concern, particularly as "Meteorite" was every bit of a banger coming from a huge hit movie. Fingers crossed it goes well with album 2.

October 26, 20177 yr They better include See Me Now (?), a song they were gigging with a while back cut from the same cloth as King.
October 26, 20177 yr I said Indie pop not indie i'm not sure you guys know what indie pop is definetely not y&y What would you say indie pop is? in my eyes, Lauv, LANY, Years & Years, Loote etc. all release indie-pop.
October 26, 20177 yr Meteorite wasn't quite up to the same standard as their usual stuff for me so I'm not surprised it didn't do quite so well. I wouldn't say it's a concern, soundtrack singles rarely have any bearing on how the next proper single will perform (P!nk is a notable case with Just Like Fire and What About Us, even if on a slightly different scale).
January 31, 20187 yr They performed a new song called "DNA" at BBC Music Sound of 2018: Live on Annie Mac's BBC Radio 1 show.
January 31, 20187 yr I never really saw what all the fuss was about with y&y. King was really great and Shine was a nice follow up but everything after that just sounded a bit samey and didn’t do much for me. Desire was nice but mainly due to Tove Lo. Hopefully I’m proven wrong this year but
February 7, 20187 yr They've been confirmed to perform at Radio 1's Biggest Weekend in May. I'm looking forward to the new single, hopefully "DNA" isn't a signifier of what's to come because their first album was so much stronger than it.
February 15, 20187 yr Author Still teasing... :) https://twitter.com/mademetoxic/status/964214247956926466 Edited February 15, 20187 yr by TMD_24Quavo
February 20, 20187 yr New music coming very soon after stating on R1 a fortnight ago that it would be “in a few weeks.” What do you want from this era after their very successful last one?
