It’s cute.
I think the word(s) you're looking for are "euphoric pop joy" that final minute or so... CHILLS. Every time. It's the song to make me warm to her as an artist tbh.

However, keep up with the 'Slow' appreciation *.*

Kylie still doing very well on Itunes. ... 0.336 and dark green! Can it snatch Ann Marie 9th and Drake 8th.... doubtful but already if combined with remix she is 8th

Read T Boy's post from a teacher's perspective - one who teaches teenagers.

Rather rude to label me an 'obnoxious troll' for having formed an opinion different to yours - the obnoxious comment is yours! As I've already said I like Kylie but kids on the whole are going to be skipping her songs if they're on playlists. She's not what that demographic wants.

Just want to say regarding this, I'm sorry for the slightly extreme way in which I reacted. But keep in mind, I said you were being an obnoxious troll rather than you are an obnoxious troll. :P

Dancing is so so generic sounding (basically sounds like a Kygo produced track)

Look, the (untrue and grossly unfair) comparison to Kygo is (in my opinion) really offensive and it upsets me. So, stop doing that.

Apology accepted; please drop me a PM in future if you have a problem with something I post though - I by no means have been *intending* to be an obnoxious troll and would much rather not come across as one if that is in fact the case.

Good point. But, 'On a Night Like This' says hello.

Both great but "Love At First Sight" slightly edges it from a whole host of tracks for me... her back catalogue (2000s onwards in particular) is filled with great pop tracks with that Kylie charm!

in all honesty, 'Dancing' is a genuinely refreshing take on modern tropical pop - it doesn't have the same, boring, drop reliant structure that most chart music has yet it still manages to sound like a well-crafted pop banger.
Let's just wait it out you guys. I think the additional promo has been able to generate more hype and something will happen. If she makes the top 40, then great. More exposure for the single.

Dancing still going well. Up to 8th combined ahead of Drake now. Pity he streams more in one day than she does in a year lol

Let's see if the 59p pricing keeps her up to 30 on Itunes for rest of week, doubtful but would be a nice bonus.

She needs around 9,000 units for top 40 so I doubt she will be anywhere near that but I think she could maybe do around 3.5k sales and 1k streams and make top 100

On the subject of Sam Smith as he was discussed earlier, 'One Last Song' is the only single of his I've even LIKED and the fact that it's the one single of his that has flopped is really annoying!

I think that artists such as Pink, Sam Smith, Taylor Swift, etc have all suffered from releasing their albums after releasing just one single from it. Their first single is a huge hit (mostly #1 or very popular anyway) but second singles come after the album don’t have anywhere near as much momentum or hype because fans have already listened to the songs. For example Beautiful Trauma, could’ve easily been a Top 10 hit if it was released before the albums release but because it was released after, many people had already bought/streamed the song on the album and so couldn’t support it to the extent they could What About Us. Exactly the same can be said about Sam Smith with Too Good... & One Last Song

'Love At First Sight' as a teenager discovering my way in this world is the song that made me a Kylie fan!

It's been the same ever since and I've been what could be described as a 'stan', but the 'I Was Gonna Cancel' video happened and that Christmas album happened. She's given me endless reasons to feel embarrassed to be a fan over the past four years, but she has now got me back on board with 'Dancing'. It is a BOP!

Kylie the only green song in the top 10 at last update with 0.34 ... 0.39 combined with remix. I think it will sneak a top 40 spot in today's official top 100 update but then drop down as usual during week
Dancing is not generic at all. The song is a reflection of where she is as an artic. She is 30 years into her career and has nothing to prove to anyone.

She went through hell in 2016 and poured her heaet into this era and the music and was inspired by her surroundings. The country twang to Dancing lends itself to the lyics.

A tech house sound would not lend itself to a song about welcoming death. At all. She does not need to appeal to anyone.

You are right in a lot of aspects, but I still find Dancing quite generic production wise, the country/electronic drop thing has been done loads recently by the likes of Kygo. As you say Kylie has nothing to prove and doesn't need her music to specifically appeal to an audience, so it is disappointing for me Dancing doesn't sound more different to pop music trends recently :(

As for Kylie's best song 'On A Night like this' is definitely my favourite.
