 All is not lost then - maybe she could do a 15 copy run of the album for the Scottish market

Totally agree about the lack of market for her. I felt like even her fans were losing incentive to buy or stream the album with half the songs already being released, so it probably is best to start over. Still disappointing because the songs we got to hear were great - would've made a nice EP at least!
i feel bad because she's stuck in a niche genre - the 14 year olds that loved 'all about that bass' are now 18 & aren't interested.

they tried a maturer sound with the second album, it didn't work & the label have obviously switched her back to the bubblegum pop which no longer has a market.

it's a shame, 'cause she's a pretty good songwriter & has a sweet personality but, because she lacks the sex appeal, the label don't know what to do with her now the kids aren't interested.

I hardly took any notice of the second album but everything I've heard so far from this album is pretty decent.

This! I’m not sure who her market is anymore - as you said the kids that originally loved her have grown up and moved on and she never really managed to get that feverish gay following that so many female soloists rely on to carry them through their flops and wilderness years before returning to glory.

I'm sure the majority of gays dislike her and I don't get why. Other than the comments shes made about trying to be bulimic (eye roll) I don't see what she has done to be so hated? AATB was certainly overplayed but the rest of her stuff is pleasant enough.

No Excused would have been huge in the US had Spotify not avoided putting her on any possible playlist. She was top three on iTunes for a great while, however Spotify and radio were horrendous to her. The same applies to ‘Me Too’, Spotify ruined that getting a top 10 peak despite its digital performance!

I don’t think she’s hated she is just not a ‘gay icon’ - whatever it’s takes to get you there she hasn’t done, maybe she should ask Kylie, Cher, Madonna and friends for a tip or two :P

Did Spotify themselves actually ruin it? I know they can be arseholes, but surely it's up to the label themselves to buy these playlist placings.

Maybe the fact her label weren't willing to spend that money on her speaks volumes?

Idk how much it contributed to it but spotify definitely had a vendetta against Meghan cos she released Thank You as an early one week exclusive on Apple Music

Spotify removed ‘Me Too’ from playlist when ‘Thank You’ went apple exclusive. ‘NO EXCUSES’ also done tremendously well on iTunes but Spotify still failed to put it on any playlists and I’m sure her label would have been more than happy to payola Spotify considering it was the main thing holding it back which probably ensured her airplay would be coming to an end too!

Tbf, that'll be her labels fault then for not doing something to try and sweeten up Spotify again (especially considering Spotify seems to have a bigger impact than Apple Music atm). Manufactured pop acts like Meghan need as much support as possible. So they can't afford to lose out on little, petty contractual obligations or whatever.

She's sung a preview of Genetics, it sounds really cool. I am hyped for the full thing. She seems really sweet in the interview too
