Purposely rejecting a number one single they would have the rights to include seems like a very poor business move!

They’ve previously said it’s not their job to pick between hits but to represent what’s popular at that moment in time so this goes against that rather.

“At that moment” when two of the songs from 100 charted before 99 and should’ve appeared on there

they must have thought/decided 'Freaky Friday' was too rude for inclusion even in its censored form then. seems a likely explanation.
Still a baffling explanation

Why? The albums are aimed at families. If a song has tasty lyrics it shouldn’t be included!

There is a thing called editing like “Bassline Junkie” on NOW 84 and “Mask Off” on NOW 97. Both songs were heavily butchered

I think it's also the novelty of the song. Previous Novelty songs age a NOW album quicker than usual. And NOW 100 is such an important one, they don't want it ruined with that song.
They only had one disc to fill for Now 100 so probably didn’t feel the need to include butchered songs when there’s better choices.

I would’ve said that I hope they include it on NOW 101 but by the time that’s released, the song will be forgotten. In other news, NOW NOW is still going ahead as it’s mentioned in the NOW 100 booklet and disc 1 is blue and disc 2 is red

What is “Now Now”? :unsure;

It’s a spin off they were gonna do with 100 songs (a song from each NOW)

And yet even with Now Now being a thing they still made disc 2 of now 100 to be a shambles

If they included “We Are Family”, “I Will Survive” and “Don’t You Want Me” from 24, 25 and 32 but in their original versions instead of the remixes which appeared, I wouldn’t have minded as much

Who’s rushing out to get their copy of Now 100 tomorrow then?

I won’t be in a rush to get it, but I will get it just to feel complete and then that will be the final time I purchase any Now volume again.

“No Tears Left To Cry”, “Jackie Chan”, “Ring Ring”, “Only You”, “In My Blood” and “Wonderwall” are the album-only tracks on NOW 100

“The Safety Dance”, “They Don’t Know”, “Kissing With Confidence” and “The Sun And The Rain” are the album-only tracks on NOW 1

I'd like it to add to my collection, but am not rushing to get it.

Absolute Radio 80's aired a documentary on NOW presented by Mark Goodier last evening called 'That was then, This is Now!' and Virgin Radio will air their own documentary Sunday evening at 7pm which will be hosted by Pete Mitchell in conversation with the series co-founder Sir Richard Branson.

Britney Spears won "Best NOW Female", "Best Song of the Nineties" and "Best Song of the NOW Years".

Little Mix won "Best NOW Group" and "Best Song of the Teens"

All my Queens

Take That won "Best Song of the Noughties". Not sure who won 80's yet though.

Surely no one actually cares that Lil Dicky has been left off? Yes it's a number 1, but there are four other no.1s on the modern disc which is a lot by today's standards. I doubt anyone will be put off buying this because of the absence of Lil Dicky.

Interesting, though, about Cardi B's label not playing ball when they were with Bodak Yellow.

Now That's What I Call Now is being advertised as "coming soon" on the insert for Now 100!
